Analyst says don't draft Quinn Ewers......

Flat out, Ewers is the least accurate quarterback I have charted since I started doing this in 2020.
Some teams might love Ewers for simply finding his checkdowns and getting the ball out quickly. He will never bite off more than he can chew. The issue is that he cannot even chew very much.
His willingness to step up into pockets frequently compromised the integrity of his offensive tackles, his arm just doesn’t have juice, and Ewers just isn’t seeing schemed open shots no matter how easy Sarkisian made life on him
Ewers is going to get drafted on his name alone. But he probably shouldn’t be. He’s the shell of a quarterback at this point.
Cory Kinnan, Reception Perception.
That's harsh.

You sound salty, I wonder what recent events could've caused your saltiness?

QE gave Texas what he had to give… and he gave Longhorn fans some awesome moments… ask Coach Saban about this one…

Great receivers will make shite QB’s look better than average. That play and that receiver was one of them.

Yeah, that's pretty harsh. I wouldn't draft him, either, but I'm not sure he wouldn't be a decent clipboard holder.
Dude will always be a mystery to me. Seemingly had all of the tools but came together far too infrequently

Absolutely - props to Xavier Worthy, whose speed and talent led him to NFL draft success…
I think most Longhorn fans understand that QE does not have complete next level skills, size, consistency, or durability…
Regardless of that, QE played his heart out for Texas, and his place in our school’s sports history is assured…

I would like for Ewers to do well in the pros, he's a good kid and did everything right. But I would be shocked if he ends up being a starter with a long successful career.

Yeah, all know it, and some will say it. The Texas shine is what carries him. I wish he was Brett Favre, but no, he ain't.

Harsh, but true. Anyone not looking through burnt orange tinted glasses could see he has an all-world arm attached to poor feet and a slow brain.

I liked Ewers. Thought he represented himself and Texas well. Hope he gets a shot even if just as a career backup.

Spot on. He was a great teammate and a great ambassador for the school but I will never understand why he never could live up to the hype. He had flashes but they didn’t come often. I hope he can prove everyone wrong.

He doesn't have to be the worst QB in the draft to say he is still very unpolished as a passer. A lot of nuances go into success at the NFL level. That said, his throwing windows just got a lot smaller and he needs to anticipate much better. He also needs to get his feet in a better position, especially when he's throwing off-platform, which he does a lot.

Man, that was COLD and coming from a UT fan!

I wish he stayed in college another year and came to Alabama under Grubb. He may not be a top 5 pick but I think he is extremely underrated as a very capable college QB due to not living up to near unreachable expectations.

My belief is strong in Ty Simpson. And he more than deserves his day in the BAMA sun.

since I started doing this in 2020.

So basically, this guy never did an analysis on Anthony Richardson

If Ewers stayed another year at CFB - I don't think it would elevate him all that much. OTOH, it could END him however, and I don't think he wants that risk.
