Jans would be a good hire. I like Moser but OK fans don't seem to care for him. Underwood leaving Illinois for a lesser program would be an odd move, but maybe if they threw a ton of money at him. Hoiberg has almost been fired about 10 times at Nebraska, he's been very disappointing there.

I would be kind of pissed if I was State. This is two years in a row Jans has been flirting with other teams in the conference. With Beard, we knew what we were getting into and we know we only have him for a limited time most likely.

Jans isn’t that guy though.

Why isn't Houston Nutt on this list?

The answer appears to be Chris Mack, and he isn't listed..

Link: Chris Mack

Christopher Lee Mack is an American college basketball coach who is currently the head coach at the College of Charleston. He formerly served as head coach for the University of Louisville and Xavier University..

He is apparently on a flight to College Station as we speak..
(no connections, just reading TA)

2004-2009 AC Xavier (for Sean Miller)
2009-2018 HC Xavier
2018-2022 HC Louisville (fired mid season)
2024-2025 HC College of Charleston

Mack was suspended from the first six games of the 2021–22 season. The university claimed that Mack violated the school's guidelines while dealing with former assistant coach Dino Gaudio's extortion attempts. Unbeknownst to Gaudio, Mack recorded the conversation in which he fired the assistant coach and was threatened by Gaudio for doing so.

On January 26, 2022, it was announced that Mack was out as head coach of the University of Louisville. Louisville paid Mack $4.8 million, $133,000 per month for three years with his termination.

I think this is a good hire if it turns out to be true.

eta: I wish I would get terminated and paid $133k per month for 3 years.

They could do way worse. He inherited a complete shite show at Louisville and his downfall there wasn’t totally on him

Aggie should do like High Schools do.

Hire a Football coach. If that doesn't work out, kick him over to basketball and hire another Football coach. If doesn't work, kick him over to baseball and hire another Football coach.

And repeat. Save money in buyouts.

Jans is great. His teams play physical, great defense and are well coached. He just needs to fill his roster with a few more offensive threats. His New Mexico team almost put AU out of the NCAA tourney during the '19 Final Four run.

I suspect most Sooner fans would not miss Moser. Not sure who OU would hire in his place, but 1 APPEARANCE in the ncaa tourney in four years should not be hard to replace.
