The only good barbecue experience is in Texas.
The rest of y'all are just having a "cook out".

I wouldn't have Texas so high. SC should be 3rd

BBQ is like politics. We all have our own opinions on what is best for us and get madder than a wet cat when other disagree with us.

When it comes to beef bbq at least. For pork I would look outside Texas. We just don't do pork as well as the southeastern states, at least in my opinion.
Like others have said. What's best is what YOU like. Doesn't matter what anyone else thinks. I love brisket so obviously I prefer Texas and Kansas City.
For Pork I have had some incredible eats in memphis as well as other southeastern states. Texas can't touch the pork que in those areas.

Acknowledging my bias but since brisket is sticking awesome and nobody else can do it
Texas
Tennessee
S Carolina
Missouri
Bama
Zero disrespect to any of them as all are great.

The best BBQ is the meat you smoke right in your backyard while you spend some time with friends and drink beers

Texas BBQ is overrated as frick.
Just had La Barbecue in Austin and it was mid. Tenderness of the meat is all they care about. They actually take pride in not seasoning the meat.
Kansas City BBQ is highly underrated.

Sir, this is Tigerdroppings. The entire point of this place is criticizing others' opinions over the literal dumbest shite

Oklahoma is sandwiched between Texas bbq and KC bbq so we have a lot of both worlds.

I like BBQ
I also like that we are culinary misfits in the sec. But I wouldn't have it any other way.
I think some places in Texas are overvalued for their BBQ. But if you go to one of the big time spots. It's up there in an eating experience.
