Why can't ABC/ESPN figure out how to produce sports like CBS does?

CBS is so damn good at producing games for the NFL, college football and MarchMadness, and the Masters.
I don't see how these other major networks can';t figure out how to do it like CBS does.
Hope the tournament never leaves CBS like the SEC f'd up and did.
I don't know how to explain why CBS is so good at it, except when watching CBS sports productions its like you are fully immersed and wrapped up in a warm blanket.

The quality of the SEC football games was much better than their normal broadcasts this past year. I was pleasantly surprised

I agree. I thought that ESPN/ABC really stepped it up on the production. I also liked having access to so many games through the day. When we were with CBS, that whole early afternoon was blocked off for just 1 game.

getting rid of the ticker at the bottom would help a lot.. but they won’t do that, because I’m sure it’s a profit center

I miss the SEC on CBS intro and always will.

No reason the ESPn ticker should take up half the screen/

Have been saying this for years. Huge pet peeve. Really clutters up the screen and ruins the broadcast. In the age of the smartphone, there’s no use for it and I can’t imagine that it’s really a driver for other content/platforms.
ESPN’s broadcast quality is also crap compared CBS, NBC, and FOX because they go with 720.

CBS has gotten much better with the snow/glitch/delay issues they used to have. I don’t have much of a problem with ESPN personally.
