Amazing stat here: Kentucky is the only team to make the Sweet 16 in the last 20 years with zero (0) returning points from the season prior, per CBS Sports' research.

Didn't Cal basically do the same at Arkansas?
Edit: Not saying that as any dig at Big Blue...just interesting how this worked out...

It’s not a moral victory if you actually win.

One player returned after Cal got him to withdraw from the portal.
Stat is misleading in general. Before the portal, there was never a scenario where a team would not return a single player from the previous season.

No, they had at least Brazille back.

What exactly did you win? A stat that nobody cares about?

Pretty amazing stat.
Just shows what Pope has done for our program since April.

Is there some reason you’re so mad about *checks notes* a favorable stat posted by a sports writer? You new to this basketball thing?

He's like a moth to any Kentucky flame

He was in the portal but he was allowed back I guess. I was surprised. But he’s doing good now.

Interesting. I have been told it takes years to turn around a program.

He was in the NBA draft when cal was hired with drew from the draft and entered the portal.
Lawson Blake, a walkon, and his 4 career points over three years was the only player on the roster when Cal was hired.
It's a misleading stat full of the copium Kentucky has been pumping for nearly a year now.

It’s just hard to get used to this era of college athletics. Gone are the days of watching a Corliss Williamson come on as a freshman and watch him lead the program to back to back national title games his sophomore and junior seasons.
Enjoying watching the kids develop is a thing of the past.

How so? He was on the team the previous season and now this season, yes?
Kentucky had 0 returning players. Why does this bother you?

Why are you making a post about Kentucky and Pope about Arkansas?

It doesn't bother me, Pope brought with him key contributors from his previous stop, just as Cal did.
To say the first time ever if ignores this fact as any transfer would have been sitting out this year and a team with 0 returning production would be a team full of freshmen and jucos just a couple of years ago and before.
The last time I can think of a major conference team hitting reset with no returning production was 22 years ago when drew took over Baylor after one player murdered another.

Because if you want to circle jerk over this "amazing stat", it should be posted on Kentucky's dead team board here or rupps rafters.

So you are Clark. Jaxson Robinson is the only one, and he's been out a month.
Cal had 6 to start.

You guys acting like those situations are the same is laughable
