All the excitement from Round 1 and then you wake up Saturday realizing the best matchups are yet to come. The first weekend of the tournament is sooooo good.

Auburn v Creighton
A&M v Michigan
Arkansas vs St Johns
Florida v UCONN
UK v Illinois

Tenn vs UCLA
Ole Miss vs Iowa State
Bama vs St Marys

No upsets early on means better games later in the tournament

UK, UT, and A&M need to put an end to the B1G’s historic performance in this tourney. Send ‘em home

I was just noticing that all eight of the “first four” Play in teams are now eliminated.

The four teams that won those games and made it to the first round, got completely destroyed by their opponents

It makes no sense that they let these 8 weaker teams that are laughing stocks get humiliated when they had no hope

Didn't Syracuse go on a run one year after playing their way in?

You must have missed NC State’s final four run last year, or UCLA’s in 2021. Think there have been 3 final four teams in the past 10ish years that were play in teams.

Not sure if you were just trolling Texas, but it really wasn’t a very good one at all.

To add to that VCU made a final four run about 14 years ago.

Being a play in team isn’t a death knell. Sometimes some real quality sneaks in there.

Was telling my son why this is the best sports time of the year.

Eight damn good and exciting college basketball games on today. And more tomorrow.

Son and I went to the games in Raleigh yesterday. Good times.

none of the bigten's 8 teams were seeded lower than 7th -

SEC had 8 teams seeded higher than 7 as well - all 8 were actually 6 or higher - and the SEC went 7-1 -

Missouri was dealt an opponent from a stacked deck against a 30 win 11-seed Drake - which is probably the first time a 30 win team has ever been an 11 seed

4 of the 6 SEC losses were by lower seeded SEC teams - including a Texas first four loss in a game the Longhorns probably shouldn't have even been selected to play - 8 seed MSU v 9 seed Baylor was always a toss up and played out as such in a last shot one point game -

the bigten was very close to being 7-1 as Michigan barely escaped San Diego by 3 points -

Didn't Syracuse go on a run one year after playing their way in?

The cuse have had two seasons in the last ten years where the consensus was they shouldn’t of been invited 2016 as a ten seed(final four) and 2017 as a ten seed(sweet sixteen). They had 15 losses both years and couldn’t get above 500 in conference play either year. Food for thought both these years Syracuse lost to acc teams in the tournament(teams familiar with boeheims zone D). Most everyone had abandoned playing the 2-3 so those teams had built in advantages.

I don't know a damn thing about Illinois...watching B1G basketball is like watching paint dry. Come to think of it....so is watching B1G football. No idea what to expect tomorrow v the Illini. We're missing a couple of guys due to injury, and playing a couple more who played yesterday hurt. Hope we get it done and advance.
