Average SEC team ranking in Torvik going into March 1st was 31.8.

Average SEC team ranking based on play from March 1st through now is #44.8.

Since March…

Auburn now playing as the #18 team… down 15 spots.

Tennessee now playing as the #16 team… down 12 spots.

Bama now playing like as the #12 team… down 6 spots.

Best rating in games between March 1st and today is #1 Florida… no other SEC team in the Top 11.

Maybe.

Having literally no breather games to rotate in subs has to take a toll. Not quite as bad as if you have a similar grind in football, but it's still there.

Best thing that happened to us last season was getting smoked by Florida in the first game of the SECT.

The energy difference after a solid week of rest was palpable.

Agreed. Best outcome in the conference tourney imo is to win one game and then lose (without getting blown out) and save your legs.

Meh…I don’t think the SECT has much to do with anything outside of a loss refocusing a really good team. The SEC was a bit overrated this year due to a flattening of the curve overall in college basketball.

No. Some coaches suck in the tourney and some are great.

This is nothing new. More SEC teams in means more opportunity to have a coach that sucks in the tourney.

We already knew Mike white sucked in tourney. Missouri played a really good and underrated team. State has been wishy washy all season. Texas same thing..

No shockers really.

Hell, the SEC was only .500 in conference play. They weren't that good.

Overrated, the frick? No, they absolutely dominated non-conference in a massive way.

Agreed the top 4-5 teams are really good but the league as a whole is overrated and none of the other blue bloods are string this year outside of Duke and the traditional top mid majors like Gonzaga are weaker

Because the ACC and Big East were way down this year

I think once the first weekend is over you'll see teams settling in. The first two rounds are the epitome of "survive and advance".
