truth be told, Pierce would have been a great hire for them, if he could have kept the team together..

Pierce is frustrating during the regular season, tinkering here or tinkering there, but he’s actually a pretty good coach in the postseason.

His problem is recruiting.. we just weren’t bringing elite talent to campus.. maybe that was NIL, maybe it’s because he is an a-hole, maybe the donors knew Schloss was next.. Who knows?

Pierce with that roster could have been dangerous imo..

Pierce isn't a bad coach, but I always felt he lacked that something, even since he was at Tulane.

It's honestly telling that Schloss has Pierce's players performing much better than we would be under Pierce. I don't think we'd be 17-1 right now.

He’s definitely inexperienced and learning on the job. In all seriousness, I would evaluate him towards the beginning of his second season, not his first.

He’s absolutely a work in progress but A&M knew this when they hired him.

I fully admit openly that expected more from him. We shall see what happens going forward.

So far, I would have to agree with OP.

No one wants to coach at TAMU. Their fans suck arse. Schloss left after 3 seasons and was just CWS runner up.

He was hired because he was going to keep the team together from last year. Sounds like A&M learned this lesson, that you don't hire the coach the players want, the hard way.

Two things. It’s early. And he’s learning.
This lesson won’t be learned, as you put it, unless it doesn’t work.

A&M will absolutely lose games they shouldn’t have with this dude. But he could also actually learn some things and fix them, that is possible.

So A&M had the team and had to build the coach or would have the coach and would have to build the team. Either way it’s a rebuild somewhere.

A&M gave him his shot and it remains to be seen what he will do with it. So far, he’s definitely taking his lumps.

But I would say it’s too early to fire him, he’s not even coached a month into his first season.

We might wanna tap the breaks until we see him in post season play.

I haven't watched any aTm baseball this season. Are the majority of those losses on coach decisions, coaching style, his hires, or the talent underperforming?

It's on hitting and fielding and relieving pitching. The only bright spot is a freshman named Kiel.

here's where you are wrong. everyone wants to coach at A&M because they hand out ridiculous contracts and extensions.
