Wound up running a 4.39 but yeah not anywhere close to Worthy's 4.21 last year and oh by the way still not even the best on the Longhorn squad that went to Golden with his 4.28

Part of me wonders if there wasn't a calibration issue last year. There were some scorching times I don't think Usain Bolt could hit.

Bolt ran a 4.2 years after he retired. There was no calibration issue with nfl combine last year. Would have been way to many legit complaints if that was true. Also a 40 yard dash is not the best way to judge track runners. Some Olympic runners only run a 4.45 in the 40 but can still run a 9 in the 100m dash

I'm pretty sure he had the highest top speed out of everyone if not top 3.

Uhh as a promotional stunt he ran a 4.22 at 32 in sweatpants and flat soled shoes

Calibration issues not withstanding you don't go chirp your fricking mouth about breaking the record then finish T-18th with your own teammate behind two other teammates which was the point of the post.

4.2 is blazing. All times seemed fast last year.

I wish they changed it up to a 50-60 yards and measured top speed.

Lots of guys are quick out of the box, then slow down.

Some guys come out slow and blaze through the finish.

Technically the fastest guy can run a slow 40. They need to show top overall speed.

Oh and having someone chase you helps.

Bond went from living legend to being laughed at by nerds & booed by casual fans.

What a slide that guy’s had over the last 14 months.

Too much emphasis on 40 times. I recall what Darrell Royal said about that when quizzed by a reporter. When asked what Earl Campbell's 40 time was he said he didn't know. Asked why. Said never timed him. Ask why not. He say "don't matter, he's gonna start."
Point being 4.35 or 4.4, if you can play you can play. If not, you can't.

For the love of god I give 0 fricks about 40 yard dash times

Just don't chirp your mouth that you're going to break the record then go lay an egg
