Alabama: Northern parts surprisingly pretty but would not ever want to live there. The negative connotation of the entire South is pretty much just Alabama, and Mississippi.

Arkansas: never been, but the Ozarks look nice. Seems like a great place for someone that likes the outdoors.

Florida: A good time. Enjoyed Miami, even though it felt like I was in a foreign country more akin to Latin America. Jacksonville is pretty cool too.

Georgia: Atlanta sucks, but Georgia is an overall nice state. A good majority of my paternal side originate from Georgia. I see them as a brother state to SC.

Kentucky: Verging on Yankeedom, but some of the hollers down in the SE portion of the state are probably about as backward and redneck as you can get.

Louisiana: I think of gunshots, murders, and robberies. If there were an amount to pay me to move there, it'd have to start in the millions.

Mississippi: Only state in the conference I have been to an away game (Ole Miss). Great trip, and we stayed in Robinsonville, but see Alabama. But also, better than Louisiana.

Missouri: I am sure there are nice parts with some of the Ozarks spilling over. CoMo seems cool but never been, would like to make a trip out there for a game at some point. Otherwise, I assume most of the state is flat?

Oklahoma: Tornadoes.

Tennessee: Great state. Beautiful all around and great places to go to sans Memphis.

Texas: Never been, and do not really have a desire to outside of maybe El Paso/extreme Western Texas.

You are not very well travelled to be starting a thread comparing states.

Missouri is definitely not flat. Half the state is bluffs and rolling hills. Go north and it gets pretty flat in spots but anything south of Columbia is really hilly

Trying to paint a state with one broad brush is also folly. Every state can be broken down into different regions which are often vastly different from other regions of the same state.

Oklahoma: Tornadoes and Tiger King
Louisiana: drunk Cajuns and murder
Texas: Play/Hobby ranching. Big cities. Stay away from Austin, Houston, and the east side of the metroplex.
Arkansas: half Memphis half hillbilly, then you have hot springs.
Mississippi: Kings of Tupelo
Tennessee: pretty cool if you steer clear of Nashville.
Kentucky: seems legit but I don’t know what I would do there.
Alabama: the south.
Georgia: not for me.
Florida: Kinda like Austin. Lots of natives leaving, being taken over by some other crowd.
South Carolina: some shore and that lawyer who killed his family.

No kidding.

I once spent six years in exile behind the Pine Curtain in Marshall, Texas, which is closer to Augusta, GA, than it is to El Paso, Texas, in distance, culture, and topography.

Oklahoma: Meth, Indians, Infidelity and Tornadoes
Louisiana: Flat out retards living in swamp shanties
Missouri: Who are we?
Arkansas: Beautiful state, terrible pay
Mississippi: Somebody turn the lights on
Tennessee: Avoid Memphis. Pretty nice out east.
Kentucky: Where I would live if not Texas. Blue Moon of Kentucky keep on shining.
Alabama: Poors. Bama fans. And more poors.
Georgia: Gone Democrat. Too crowded. Probably the most backsliding SEC state.
Florida: Hurricanes, Cubans, and Conservatives.
South Carolina: The next state on the east coast to go Left. But still hanging on for now.

I am sorry. I plan my trips on I-20 so I don’t ever have to stop for gas at Marshall after stopping there once.

If you're heading east it's just more of the same

You're basing the entire state of Louisiana on just New Orleans. If that's the case then you'd have to say the exact same for states with big cities like Georgia and Texas. Obviously Memphis goes without saying.

I travel a ton for work and South Louisiana is one of my favorite places to go. Great food and good people.

I have seen every mile of I-20 between Abilene, TX and Florence, SC. There aren’t many exits I haven’t gotten off of at least once except between Arlington and Terrell. I know I won’t live forever, but I don’t want to die in Dallas.

Missouri is a beautiful state which is why tourists flood it every year. Not flat at all..see topography map. 4 major metropolitan areas with KC & St Louis being the largest. CoMo is very cool, and fits very well in it's design with the other southern schools of the SEC. If you haven't been to a game here you need to put it on your list. One of the best tailgate scenes in the Country.

I gauge the credibility of anti-Atlanta opinions on the observer's Houston opinion.

If you hate Houston, it's fair to hate Atlanta.
