Is it a 3 horse race with Pearl, Golden, and Gates?

I dunno - if Auburn goes 17-1 in THIS league then Pearl deserves very serious consideration, even with what Gates has done.

Golden is a great coach but Florida was expected to be really good and they are really good. If they end up winning the league then sure, but if they finish 14-4 or something I don't see why he'd be it over Pearl or Gates.

Gates is clearly the "better than expected" pick. If they finish 14-4 in conference then he probably edges Pearl.

14 quad 1 wins and counting.

Bruce Pearl, if Auburn wins the SEC.

No bad choices. One will win SEC COY, but one of the other could win D1 COY.

Just an amazing season for the SEC.

Feel the same way. Golden has done one hell of a job especially with the whole title 9 thing, but Gates going from zero wins to legit contender is amazing. Pearl's probably the most impressive coach overall seeing what he's done and the programs he's turned around. Happy to have a coach from his coaching tree.

If the season ended today, Gates.

Golden or Pearl could have a shot once the season and SECT are all said and done, but Gates is definitely in the lead right now.

Gates
he may politely decline - considering the 2024 season he had after winning SEC COY in 2023 -

it's close to trending to be the new "Madden curse"

Gates - 2023 SEC COY - 2024 - finished 0-18 league play
Paris - 2024 SEC COY - 2025 - currently 0-13 league record

if it is a new curse - I hope Nate Oats is named for 2025
