One downvote for posting no context, and a mental second for linking a FOX news article.

You posted a week-old article on a forum that has new threads fill up the first page every hour. It's been discussed plenty on here. Use the search function or google "tigerdroppings Brian Kelly Greg Brooks" for the hundreds of threads/discussions on the subject in the last week

Yes it’s all true
Even the part where they set up a account to accept donations for him and honored him on the field

99% of coaches wouldn’t have had the slightest clue that Brooks had brain cancer. Headaches and fatigue are very general symptoms that would easily get written off by many MDs.
The situation sucks for Brooks and I understand how frustrated his family is, but trying to milk the university from a lawsuit is just a shitty thing to do. It speaks volumes as to how these families put all of their eggs into one basket when it comes to their sons playing sports.

Then why hold those donations instead of giving them to the family?

From what I've heard, because the donations were solicited to help support Brooks' medical needs, the money legally has to go toward documented medical (or related) expenses.
Allegedly, the family will not submit the documentation required and just wants the fund transferred to them.
Maybe LSU will just give them that money and call it a settlement.

Unfortunate/sad situation.
Family is upset about a rare medical condition that has nothing to do with football and is unfortunately looking for someone to blame, and more importantly looking for someone to pay.
The only possible case they may have is against the hospital and the surgeon. And that’s an uphill climb, to say the least, given the complex/risky nature of the procedure.
The father/family basically wanted LSU to Venmo the family all the donation money LSU raised for Brooks. LSU, rightfully said …uh no, that’s not how this works, send us the medical bills and we’ll be happy to pay them with the donation funds that were raised for Greg’s medical care.
All the BK stuff is really irrelevant to the actual case. They’re just trying to apply media pressure hoping LSU will settle and want nothing to do with the case.

Correct, TAF can't directly send the family money, that's an NCAA violation.

Be a good person and give the guy some encouragement with a simple phone call?

This has already been called bullshite. Kelly, his staff and hospital staff all have records of Kelly visiting him multiple times.
I don't like Kelly as a coach. He seems like a bit of a douche. But, I don't think he just ignored this kid. They need money and LSU has tons. That's all this is.

In the statements prior to the lawsuit, the family thanked LSU and the coaches for their support.
Even Kerry Cooks, a coach that BK fired, stated that BK had visited Brooks multiple times.
