Vandy/Alabama will all come down to how Alabama responds to Vandy's defensive pressure.
Vandy is #8 in turnover rate defense. Alabama is #133 in turnover rate (but has at times been much worse vs certain types of turnover creating defenses).
On the flip side, because of their turnover hunting, Vandy is #220 in free throw rate defense (they give up a ton of free throws) and #265 in 3PT% against (they give up a lot of good looks from 3). Alabama is #22 in free throw rate and while they are only #227 in 3PT% they've been better lately and have been much better in games where they are consistently getting open looks off kick outs.
If Alabama is turning it over and is sloppy early, could be a good one. If Alabama controls Vandy's pressure, could get ugly.

I'm curious to see how Tennessee bounces back. State is a really good team.

Tennessee's offense has hit the skids the last month or so
Last 10 games
- #281 nationally in eFG%
- #295 in 2pt %
- #210 in 3pt %
- #281 in offensive shot block rate
- #204 in free throw rate
In conference play Zeigler is shooting 35% from 2. Lanier is shooting 29% from 2. Gainey is shooting 30% from 2. That's tough.

Vandy basketball in a game we should win on a Tuesday with the crowd showing up ten minutes after tip off

If I was a Tenn fan I would look at this glass half full
they are clearly going through a slump with their shooting..... but hell go through that now in January and figure it out
if your best shooters are going to have issues you want them this month before late Febuary early March when it's time to truly get rolling

It won't be snowing up there, at least. That 26 degree weather at tip-off might deter some attendees, though.

They probably need to get it going pretty quick. Here are their next 5 games.
vs #14 Mississippi St
@ #1 Auburn
vs #9 Kentucky
vs #5 Florida
vs #22 Missouri
Good scheduling though as 4 of them are at home. Teams always shoot better at home.

When is he coming back BTW? I'm gonna need a raise doing double duty here.

You didn't hear it from me, but I've heard rumors of them tripling your salary.

3 x 0 = 0

Honestly not sure what to make of State-Tennessee. State had UT’s number last year but neither game was in Knoxville. State will need to defend the 3 better than they have recently. I think this comes down to whether or not Matthews and Murphy have effective games. Hubbard is still in a funk and I’m not sure UT’s defense is the one you wanna see when you’re in a funk.

Can I at least get some free coffee dammit! Something, a pack of gum?

Let me answer my own question.

If that doesn't improve, considering how good the SEC is this year, they'll go from a presumptive 1 seed to more like a 4 or 5 seed.
