I hope he can prove well over there, I feel like he was so underdeveloped, while he was here

I feel like he probably sucked and Texas State is a much better fit.

True, but his level of play never truly felt like it progressed to better play while here, I dunno if that was his fault or the fault of his coaches

He is heading to Texas State. I dont even know their mascot.

It's probably not because of the coaches.

Did really get enough data on him to determine that?

Well, I think if other coaches thought that, he wouldn’t be at Texas St. with that said hope it works out well for him there and he tears it up.

He looked terrible any time he got an opportunity to play. You can’t always blame that on the coaches. There’s a reason why he never made it past 3rd string. Especially in a below average QB room the whole time he was at Auburn.

It's probably to get away from the coaches.

Harsin at Cal didnt even want him again.

well, yeah, he sucked.

Kind of like the short QB from Texas that was a 4*, transferred to Alabama State and also sucked there.

Sometimes the players just aren’t good.

Dumb as a rock? You've seen some great ability of this staff to develop a QB? Even if they did, would they still call the Harry High School RB passes and flea flickers?

I've seen nothing, and I imagine Geriner hasn't either, so he set out for greener pastures.

Another casual take.

Go hang out at the OT board son.

He set out for greener pastures? At Texas State LOL?

He left because he was buried on the depth chart and was making zero movement. He was never going to play, period. He wasn't going to play because he was exposed at this level. He isn't an SEC caliber QB...hence why his destination is Texas State, dumbo.

The whole "QB development" shite is so hilariously overt blown. There is no magic QB training or coaching. ~70% of the success or failure at that position is simply outright up to the player himself. Probably ~20-25% is dependent on scheme fit (or the overall QB-friendliness and ability of the offensive system), and the remaining 5-10% might be "coaching".

If there was a magic coaching regiment you wouldn't see similar failure rates at the NFL as well. The reality is that most of the 4+ star HS QB recruits will fail at the NCAA level, and similarly most top draft picks will fail once they get to the NFL. Herr durrr why don't NFL teams just "coach better" and have less QB busts LOL?

This kid was low 4-star recruit. Go and look at any freaking past recruiting class and you will see that most of low 4-star QB's are guys who you won't remember at all...because they did frick-all at the NCAA level.

Yes. Greener pastures. A place where he thinks he can play and enjoy football with a staff that he thinks gives him a better chance to do that.

Every QB on our roster chose that path this year. You'd think one of them would have stayed at Auburn because of a girlfriend or just liking the place, but they all wanted to leave.

(Not you) But I am so tired of people acting like QBs are being tortured at Auburn, and some kid who couldn't sniff playing time is gonna be a superstar when he leaves like Bo Nix. Its almost insulting to Bo and the rarity of an elite prospect overall. Yes, Bama had like 3 first round pics at QB (BUT) they also had Blake Barnett, Philip Sims, Cooper Bateman, and David Cornwell. The difference is Bryce, Mack, and Tua making it to the first round wipes away the failures. The elite programs also have more access to elite QB talent. That means MORE chances to get it right. It's simple numbers. Now that WE are signing top QB talent every year, we'll have more success stories and this narrative will THANKFULLY die.

theyre the bobcats

worked out pretty well for this guy:

other than Bo Nix, he has as many bowl victories as a starting QB than anyone else who’s ever played the position for us since Brandon Cox
