In some ways, I feel for Arkansas fans and in some ways not. They all thought they were taking Cal from us and that was somehow a good thing. Maybe, time will tell.
The whole "cope with pope" thing has truly backfired and was stupid to begin with.
I think Kentucky is missing having one dog, but as I type this, we have beaten every ranked team we have played, so it's hard to argue that it's working still.
The bad losses, are bad, but things seem to be coming together. Robinson looks comfortable now, and Perry does as well. We have to keep Butler and Carr healthy, and continue to work on rebounding, but it looks promising.
I don't know if Arkansas can rebound and make the tourney. Haven't looked at their schedule, but the talent is there. Cal needs a good X's and O's coach, and he doesn't have one. Letting him make Brad an assistant was a mistake, not because of Brad but because he needed someone who could coach.

In other news, players are leaving Kentucky to play for John big dick Calipari.
I bet they regret that move now.

Kitty Mike. Cal and Arkansas. Always on his/her mind.

Well, yeah.
I get that this is the Rant. Shite-talking is the reason the board exists...but, man...how did very few other people not see this coming? When the biggest reasons for believing Cal would succeed at Arkansas was because he was going to get talent there...we all realize that talent wasn't the problem at UK, right?
It was the not scouting. It was not having his teams prepared. It was his lack of accountability during pressers. It was the same uncreative dribble-the-ball-into-the-floor offense every year. It was trotting the same build out every year and expecting a different result.
What had he done in recent memory that would have made ANYONE excited about Cal to Arkansas that was actually watching these basketball games?
Pope still has work to do. Get an NCAA win...ya know? But holy shite, it is nice having something to be excited about again. They're fun, seem to be a good group of guys and Pope is a legit fantastic dude. And he can recruit too.
Dodged a bullet when Scott Drew said no...holy cow. Pope was the absolute luckiest hire he could have made or Barnhart is actually a genius.

I'd make that post today. Kentucky fans were claiming he hated Cal and then committed to him

KY fans like to brush over the fact they had the weakest NIL budget in the league and have tranfer acceptance qualifications that would rival Harvard even though they are one of the worst schools in the SEC. But carry on with the narrative that it was Cals fault and not they the university failed to keep up with the changing environment
How about this gem. Lulz

I always found it funny they glossed over the reason he didn't have a blank NIL check was because he pissed off the boosters to the point that they tried to freeze him out financially.
Cal's end at Kentucky was his own doing. Blaming Kentucky for having expectations has always been funny to me.

"And when he has success here, everyone will know the problem was Kentucky"
"Most Arkansas fans will be happy with improved recruiting and some tourney runs over the next 5 years. Anything extra is icing on the cake. Odds are good that Cal learned from his mistakes at Kentucky."
Where's that happy meter?

"Kentucky is the new Arkansas"
Bless your heart

"A Kentucky fan just posted that Calipari’s reputation is in shambles, and you’re claiming Arkansas fans are delusional?"

I won't bother linking to several recent pieces pointing out the obvious "Cal has lost his fast ball"
"the level of mental gymnastics being done at Kentucky to make themselves feel like this is what they wanted is off the frickin charts"

The majority of fans wanted him gone. Would imagine Hog fans like you are approaching Simone Biles level gymnastics trying to justify your foolish pride in thinking you hit a home run hire. Hog fans hated Cal from his Memphis days and had to eat a lot of turds when he arrived in Fayetteville. Hope you acquired a taste for those turds because you're eating a bunch of 'em now with these spot on takes.
MIght want to check out the BBQ thread
swinetime
"They wanted a splash hire and got a belly flop." "Dopy and his band of role players are a non factor going forward"
"Ky fans are stupid."
Stick to track and field
