Stidham's post had me curious, so I looked at ESPN's data provided by Vividseats for what the get in price was on average for the remainder of the year for each school. I also added a normalizer that tries to take into account arena size and give a normalized get in price if all teams arena were the same size (not perfect but seems reasonable at conclusion).

Arkansas and Kentucky still lead the way, but Auburn's is impressive even when normalized for a small arena.

On the flip side, Baton Rouge is not very interested in the McMen.

The average get in price for the remaining LSU women's basketball games is $9.72.

If Auburn is going to remain committed like they are to BB, they need to milk that for a larger venue.

Didn’t they just build the one they have?

This is why I'm firmly opposed to going way smaller than Coleman when we decide to replace the ol' hangar. The intimate venue, easy sellouts, and potential noise aren't worth pricing out the average fan IMO. You can have a raucous arena that isn't at capacity with good architecture and student placement.

Added a few other schools from around the country for comparison

Agree - 13,500 or so is a solid number. But it doesn't matter because we're never leaving that tomb.

COVID + NIL pretty much ensured we'll have Coleman around for at least another generation.

It's hard for big schools, creates issues with student demand being so high and limiting their capacity. UF should have something in the 12-13K range, if for no other reason to bring in extra student space.

I wonder if LSU's team would have any better success playing against the women?

I would have never guessed Duke has that small of a venue.

Coleman was a dump when I was a student in the 90’s when I was a student. Was really hoping for a new arena by now

I suppose so. I don't watch enough college basketball to know; I'm just aware that they've been a basketball power for quite a while now.

I think Auburn’s arena size is perfect. Yes, it prices out the typical fan, but part of that is Auburn ensures about 2,000 students get primo seats… that’s about 22% of the entire arena, and about 70% of the lower bowl.

It sucks prices are as high as they are now. But if Pearl retires and we struggle again for a few years, we aren’t endangered of having a lifeless empty arena that just makes pulling out of the slump even harder.

I'm just going entirely off the list and the seat count provided on said list. Any additional information will be over my head when it comes to basketball venues.

alabama's average get in price plummets when you take away the thousands of Auburn fans that drove the price up to $228.

Auburn always has thousands travel to the dump known as Coleman because it is a lot cheaper than paying to watch Auburn play a home game in Auburn.

For example:

Ole Miss - $3
Vanderbilt - $2
LSU - $40
Georgia - $47
Mississippi State $8
Florida - $26

The only other high dollar game is Kentucky and that's because they travel well too.

We used to be 12k-13k before the downsize a few years ago.
