SEC coaches have to learn to coach the modern kids.

It sucks, but it is what it is now. DeBoer looked sick to his stomach 90% of the time he was in the cameras. You can tell Kirby struggles with it too.

Why does it seem like Alabama fans are running about 4 years behind?

Because we had the Goat who basically opened our eyes when he up and quit. He still got us to the playoffs so we weren’t fully aware.

Kirby knows how to coach modern kids.
He lost his starting quarterback, though.

No he doesn’t. Georgia hasn’t been the same past two years.

They lost one game last year. Beat FSU BY 60.
They won the SEC this year against a playoff team….beat them twice.

I guess so, but it was still a lot more of an awakening than I expected from your fans.

Saban got out because it became like the NFL and he lost his secret sauce, whatever that was.
Think about it - Saban never did great in the NFL, where the playing field is level - he had to get back to college - at places like LSU and Alabama - and where he created his advantage back in the cigar room.
Maybe he never was that great of a pure football coach. Who knows.

I mean Lane is probably more up with modern kids than anybody and he's not exactly killing it.

He went 12-0 in the regular season and 13-1 overall last season. If that’s “not being the same”, I’ll take it.

I've noticed when things aren't going right for Bama they like to spread their downfall across the whole conference.
This is conditioned thinking after a dynasty. You begin to think you are the everything. It all hinges on you. If you aren't good, the whole thing is not good.
It'll take awhile, but Bama fans will either:
(a) learn to think like Mississippi St and realize they're just another plebe
(b) go buy an Auburn shirt

For those of us who are not familiar with the nomenclature, what exactly are modern kids, and how are they different from non-modern kids?
Also I am good with mansplaining. TIA

In this context, its kids that are getting paid, and they have many other options to get offered even more - or just in case they don't like you - or just in case they are always looking at the other side of the fence.

I disagree. His problem is certain decisions that are made on game day for whatever reason.
- Not taking points when he should
- Not playing the best RB on the team for whatever reason
- etc.
But as for coaching these modern kids? He's knocking it out of the park. He is not only able to lure kids to Ole Miss, he is generally able to keep the ones he wants to stay. He is even able to get them to not opt out of a somewhat meaningless bowl game.

It's kids who have options and are not afraid to explore them if the coach starts channeling R. Lee Ermey in "Full Metal Jacket" like a lot of old-fart fans who view football as a metaphor for life and a test of manhood want and get off on, rather than a game where you score the most points and you get W's, and you get enough W's you get to play for the big trophy which is the only thing that really should be important and motivating you.

I wait for the day that a group of Bama whistleblowers will detail how the tGoat got all of the players to Bama, from secret bags, to family and handler perks, the Amite barber, to Dodge Chargers/Challengers, etc., and how the Bama process kept the $ rolling in like a high tide. Ah gots to know…..

Drink's doing fine with modern kids.

There is no coaching someone who won't receive instruction. Just as there is no saving someone who doesn't think they need saving. These kids now days just want to know whats in it for them without hard work or earning it. You also can;t appreciate something that was handed to you.

Nobody is going to be as good as the elite teams were a handful of years ago. The Georgias of 21 and 22 and the great Alabama Saban teams are no more.
Teams have no depth now. The talent is spread out.
CFB will be More like the NFL game where most games will be a touchdown or two margin.
Ole Miss was 10-3 and State 2-10 and Ole Miss won the Egg Bowl 28-14.
The better teams will win most games yes but the margin will be thin.
Parity my friends

Kids have always been paid, they are just getting paid more. They have always had other options as well, they just have more options.
Telling me that kids have more options now means they are the same, only with more options? OK.
I think what you are saying while being afraid to say it, is that modern kids are more inclined to quit on you than non-modern kids. Correct?
