What is the fvckery of two teams from the same conference playing in a "bowl" game?

I've been watching college football for a very long time, and I can't remember ever seeing stupid shite like that before.

Good God, the big xii is shite.

I don’t remember this before, either. Don’t know if it is a good reason but here’s the explanation at least according to this writer: LINK

The old Pac 12 bowl tie ins still apply so the Alamo bowl had to be a 2023 Big 12 team vs a 2023 Pac 12 team.

I kind of like the Alamo Bowl matchup. I’m somewhat intrigued by Colorado’s star players not skipping the game, the disability insurance angle, and just the matchup in general, although I’ve never been much of a fan of Colorado football. LINK

UConn is winning their bowl game. I did not realize that Jim Mora was their head coach but he has them trending in the right direction.

NC’s QB Criswell, from Arkansas and played for the Hogs for a season, goes down in the bowl game with injury. LINK

Used to occur occasionally, and often involved Ole Miss.

1953 Sugar Bowl (Georgia Tech v. Ole Miss)
1960 Sugar Bowl (Ole Miss 21, LSU 0 )
1964 Sugar Bowl (Alabama v. Ole Miss; there was snow on the ground in New Orleans, believe it or not)

1946 Gator Bowl
1955 Gator Bowl
1958 Gator Bowl (Florida v. Ole Miss)
1970 Gator Bowl (Auburn v. Ole Miss)

UConn prevails 27-14. We’ll see what Bill does with NC next year.

Pat Sullivan vs Archie Manning. That was a classic game.

The Pop Tarts Bowl should be added as a CFP game.
