We barely miss the playoffs next season but in 26, when Gus comes back as OC, we play for a Natty.

I remember back in the like 2015 ish era people talking about Gus as HC and Freeze as OC being the perfect match. The reverse is also viable. They really do complement each other well.

Would be hilarious if this somehow happened. The internets would be ablaze.

That would be something if Rhett brought him back as OC.

I never want Gus leading our offense again. What in the world.

I thought Gus would kill it in this day and age. Can’t recruit linemen…frick it let’s buy them.

I’d be just fine if Gus never graced the Plains again …. ever.

Harsin was a terrible hire, and he made the mistake of trying to build on the foundation rubble left by Gus ….. which is to say, a bare cupboard.

I don’t wish the man any ill will, but damn he hurt Auburn football ….
and we’re still trying to recover from his recruiting neglect.

Gus did recruit some talent so we can't say he didn't. He didn't consistently get O-lineman, he didn't consistently hit on QBs which was a weakness. I don't think he developed talent in some areas but he did hire some good coaches that recruited and some that could develop. However, like a lot of coaches, he got too comfortable with the status quo. He should have moved on. Harsin on the other hand didn't try and recruit. Remember him staying in Auburn on Friday nights watching his kid play instead of going out and watching recruits? Or when he didn't go around and meet coaches? Yeah that hurts recruiting. We can all argue 2013, 2017, etc but Gus won some games he had no business winning, (that was coaching) and loosing games he had no business loosing (also coaching). Good luck to him and I would like to thank him for his time when we won & played for a natty. I think he will be ok as an OC and wonder what he will do there at FSU where he won't have to recruit as much as people think but show the talent how they will be used.
