He's a redshirt freshman, but in fairness to Nico, this is what Heupel does regardless of the QB. Pads his stats against inferior opponents, but once they match up with an opponent that can stop their running game with their front 7, the whole offense is stymied.

But this Tennessee team:
Lost to Arkansas
Struggled with Kentucky
Went to OT with Florida
There were signs this was not a great team all along.
And Bama lost to this Tennessee team in addition to 6-6 Oklahoma (by 3 scores!) and 6-6 Vanderbilt.
Tennessee’s loss solidified the committee’s decision on the 12 teams. They got it right. There are structural issues with the way Boise and ASU got byes but the teams they selected were the correct 12 teams.
But this Tennessee team:
Lost to Arkansas
Struggled with Kentucky
Went to OT with Florida
There were signs this was not a great team all along.
