Is Clemson starting to prove they belonged in the playoff?

Not sure what they have to do to erase the narrative they didn't. 7 point game right now.

They are now in my mind, and just a few minutes ago I would've said hell no. Dabo somehow brings out magic in the playoffs, he's a hell of a coach.

Clemson is a team that has 1 ranked win - SMU.

If Clemson finishes with the same record in the SEC (which isn't likely given the schedule difference), they'd be left out. That's the problem I have with the playoff.

No Texas is just being Texas again. Like I said the sec is still the best conference but every sec team had multiple WTH are we doing games.

Actually, if they had 1 loss in conference and 2 losses out of conference like they did... they'd have been playing Texas in the SECCG to make it into the playoff from the SEC too.

Clemson only made it because of AQ status, so they can win the entire thing and they still didn't belong.
Texas will be getting it's first win over a ranked team, that's good for them but it's not even a top10 team and probably not a top20 team after all is said and done.
I want Clemson to win, but I seriously doubt it's a reality.

A 6-6 team and an 8-4 team aren't better than those records just because they had fewer losses when you played them.

Not really. Could still easily see Clemson losing by a single TD or even tying it up.
to me I think a 7 point road loss to #5 by the #12 seeded team would show their selection was warranted. Clemson isn't supposed to win this game.

Time of game rankings are great for headlines, terrible for measuring team strength.
Do you think GT got a ranked win because they beat #10 FSU at the start of the season?
However, it could end up being that A&M finishes ranked in the final poll. As of now it's not the case.

Everyone says this... but Clemson has the 5th highest talent composite of any team in college football without using the portal.
Talent isn't their issue. The main issue for Clemson is they haven't been able to find a decent replacement for Venables as their DC. Their OC isn't that great either but they could always fall back on Venables at DC in their "glory" years.
