It's like this whole 12 team playoff exists to prop up their B-tier program. Played 2 real teams all year, lost both, slide into the playoffs uncontested ahead of much better teams, then somehow also get a home game and the easiest path to the final four among anybody in the field.

I’m still shocked that the Sandusky thing didn’t kill off their program. Seriously. When your brand and history (Joe Pa) is associated in everyone’s mind with child molestation, how do you keep it going with any success. It kinda did though in a way, Penn State just gets the easiest road every year.

And then they hired a guy whose own players were caught in a significant rape scandal.

Ask the Catholic Church. Maybe there are a lot of Catholics in Pennsylvania so it was no big deal.

Joe Pa died at a "convenient" time as well. Imagine the recruits going for a visit and suddenly a train appears. One coach is driving it and another brings up the rear. Disgusting.

To me the obvious answer is that their admin and booster were probably in on it.

People like that run in packs.

I am loathe to reaveal something so personal but I used to work with a charity that helps get people out of situations like that.

People assume it's cults, but more often than not its groups of prominent people you can't do anything about, the survivors are too scared to even press charges, not that anything would be done anyway.

Sandusky getting outed for what he is a rare victory for survivors of such things, but he was definitely part of a group.

Similar situation in Britain with Jimmy Savile, went down for the same thing, almost certainly part of a much larger group.

edit: and I just realized the kind of stuff that was happening at Michigan State, who knows, could've been connected.

Sorry to go off like this, but it's the kind of stuff I dedicate my life to, helping survivors of stuff like this.
