Broken: Conference championships mean nothing. 12 teams are too many.

Let's look across the board here... The conference chemp and the losing team are both in. Then, you have TN and ND that don't even play in the championship.

12 teams is just too many. There's no incentive to win the conference. Barely any to actually play in the championship game.

But winning your conference championship is a guaranteed in.

They need to scrap the auto byes though. Just reseed the teams

12 is awesome, makes games I would never care about actually meaningful. Cfb is supposed to be entertainmet in the end.

Disagree.

When you view it throught the lens of guaranteeing that the best 5 or so teams get in, guaranteeing the best group of 5 gets a shot, and avoiding 2023 FSU situation, it's fine.

Disagree - Automatic playoff berths and Byes mean a lot

Agree.

Conference Championship games should be eliminated. Make all Conferences play the same amount of Regular Season Conference games and give the auto qualifier to the Regular Season Champions. Avoids a Clemson situation.

Why worry about the conference championship if you can still get in? A good team can go on the road and win (look at bama this year, LOL). You lose and you're still in.... Big deal.

Get rid of CCGs and go to 16 team playoffs, no byes. Let the BCS computers pick. Take human emotion out of the equation.

BCS with the best two teams playing for the title is and always will be the best approach.

Follow the DII format. Four regions across the country with no conference championship games. 7 teams in each region qualify for playoffs and top seed in each region gets a first round bye. The answer has been in front of us for years.

Bama made conference championships irrelevant in 2011, so shut up.

Not completely true as Clemson wouldn't have made the playoffs without their conference championship game. I don't think 12 teams is necessarily too many but the way they choose the 12 teams is horrendous.
