On the eve of his second transfer in as many seasons, let's revisit the loser on a losing team turned loser on a winning team.

He left Florida to avoid backing up Montrell Johnson for a third season, however, in all likelihood he would have ended this year as the 4th string (lol) RB.

Compare his stats to Florida's 3rd String (3* True Freshman) RB, Jadan Baugh

Baugh: 119 Carries, 601 Yards, 7 TDs (5.1 YPC)
Etienne: 95 Carries, 477 Yards, 7 TDs (5.0 YPC)

Despite regressing in every appreciable category, he is likely bound for another big school. I'll wish for LSU's sake that it's Clemson.

This “4th string” transfer seems to have really gotten underneath your skin.

Why so salty?

Also I’m not sure why you believe he is going to transfer again.

Your guys have kept him from playing much since he went to Jax. Congrats, I guess.

Must be proud.

I don't know where you get that he's transferring, but I don't think Georgia would miss him much. Florida didn't miss him. Both teams are pretty stacked at RB.

I seriously seriously doubt that Dabo would take him regardless of the legacy stuff.

And Beamer had better not touch him with a frickin' 10' pole.

It'll be interesting to see where he lands.

Memphis State is going to need to replace Mario Anderson, Jr after this season.

perhaps having broken ribs and missing all or parts of the last 5 games has something to do wiht that.

Yes despite the above, he till has the same amount of TDs as the guy you're praising, on 25 less carries.

I’m guessing he’s going to Georgia Tech

I said this earlier in the season, ETN would have been the 4th best back at UF had he stayed. Shows flashes of greatness but can't pass block and runs out of bounds whenever he can to avoid a hit. He will be a great back if he transfers to a MAC school.

He's been injured for the majority of this year. I don't think you can knock him for his lack of production.

He’s going to play limited this weekend. I’d guess his numbers are still going to be better than any of UFs RBs.

Etienne transferring ended up being a good thing for Florida. Those snaps went to Baugh and Jackson and have been great for their development.

Our Juco transfer 4th string RB has comparable numbers to Etienne. In fact, all 3 RBs Florida has used this year have been more productive.

Montrell Johnson: 100 rushes, 593 Yards, 6 TDs (5.9 YPC)
Jakobi Jackson: 89 rushes, 452 Yards, 7 TDs (5.4 YPC)

And we will do the same for Brenton Cox.

Ettienne did what UGA needed him to do this year. We needed an experienced back to bridge to our younger backs, the most experienced of which had only 68 career carries.

While he got injured and missed most of the end of the season, he did a good job taking carries until Nate Frazier got up to speed (the other two backs have been injured all season, so they're just about as inexperienced as they were before)

I'd love for him to stay another year as he's a solid back. But now that Frazier is experienced and with both Robinsons coming back from injury next year, UGA will be fine if he goes as well. We got what we needed which was a bridge season at RB.

UGA has two 4-star RB commits in the 2025 class, including the #4 overall RB according to the 247 composite.

Happy to have him stay, wish him well if he chooses to go

Stat comparisons are tricky things.

Etienne has played in 8 games this year. All but 5 of his snaps have been against SEC schools.

Against SEC schools, Etienne is:

90 carries, 399 yards (4.43 ypc), 7 TD. 21 catches, 126 yards. 0 fumbles lost.

let's look at UF's RB's against SEC opponents.

Leading rusher - Jaden Baugh. 95 carries. 452 yards (4.75 ypc), 7 TD. 3 catches for 27 yards. 0 fumbles lost.

#2 - Montrell Johnson. 54 carries. 267 yards (4.94 ypc), 1 TD. 3 catches for 22 yards. 1 fumble lost.

#3 - Jakobi Jackson. 66 carries. 349 yards (5.28), 5 TD. 5 catches for 47 yards. 1 fumble lost.

When you include catching the ball, Ettiene is probably slightly better than all three of the UF backs statistically. What I find more interesting is their best back against SEC opponents is their 3rd guy. Not sure why he's 3rd on the depth chart. And it's not like he put up those yards against chumps... he had 116 vs Texas and 74 vs UGA. And he's been the best at catching passes.

He's your best guy. If he transfers due to coaches preferring the other two you messed up.

says who? Not saying you're wrong but I would be highly, highly shocked if he plays a snap before the quarterfinals at the earliest.
