I don't know anything about Iowa St, except they are evidently #5 and have played 3 garbage games so far.
Iowa St 83 - MS Valley 44
Iowa St 82 - Kansas City 56
Iowa St 87 - IUPUI 52
How do we match up with these guys?

Iowa St was kind of a surprise last year, right?
Did they return most of their production?
I really don’t know. My gut says they take a step back and we’re pretty hot right now.

They are good. Their best three players from last years team are all back. 2 guards and a wing. They lost a close one to Illinois in sweet 16
Their guards are both do everything types. They create a ton on offense, get to the basket, and wreak havoc defensively. Neither of them are elite shooters but they can get hot and score in bunches

Johni should absolutely feast against their inexperienced front court. They are extremely well coached though, and I anticipate them having a plan to not let Johni beat them by himself whether that’s bringing timely double teams or denying him the ball

Their guards are very physical, but we seem to be more physical this year as well. This is a very tough tournament. Should go a long way in getting us ready for SEC play.

UConn and Memphis just tipped off..
Will this remain the game thread throughout the tourney?

There is a gap.. looks like separate sessions. Game before us starts at 4 so 8 o clock tip shouldn’t be an issue

I don’t know what their expectations were last year but I feel like they’ve been an Elite 8/Sweet 16 type team for several years now.
