Conference championship games are on the endangered species list

We could have a conference champion without having a conference championship game. Just make whichever team would have been top seed the Champion without saddling some other team with the loss.

Makes sense. Do you think ABC/ESPN and the SEC want to do away with a money maker like the SECCG? Thats the question you need to ask.

Is this a serious question? I’m pretty sure you have to wait until all games have been played before determining the first place team in the conference. I would have thought that would be pretty obvious.

I think all conferences should have their best two teams face head to head. The biggest argument is teams xyz are the best, well let’s see who is best at the end of the season. I know a lot disagree

I feel like this is classic Kiffin to be talking about this and then losing to an unranked Florida team to completely knock his team out of the playoffs

Teams should be ranked 1-12 the day after Army-Navy. Hold off on seeding until after the CCGs, but those 1-12 ranks should be locked in regardless of outcomes in the title games. Winners of the games get a bye/auto-selection if they weren't already top 12 and then seed accordingly. I.e. if #1 Oregon loses in the B1G title game, they drop to the 5th seed. If a team outside of the top 12 wins their title game, #12 is eliminated from the playoff, so on and so forth
