Look the advanced analytics love Bama, I just don’t trust the consistency.

In a one game setting I don’t think anyone can touch the version of Bama people saw in the 1H of the UGA game.

But the same issues that caused the offensive meltdown against Tennessee and USCe are still present against teams with elite DL units, which will be pretty much everyone after the quarterfinal round of the playoffs.

I think Texas, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Ohio State and OU would all pose problems defensively for Milroe and force Bama to sustain drives via reads and passes that haven’t been there consistently this year.

And Bama has to win night game at OU, the Iron Bowl and then Texas or A&M or we won’t even make the playoffs.

Every top team has flaws right now, but there’s too much recency bias and excitement about what happened against LSU IMO.

That outcome had as much to do with LSU having glaring problems in their front 7 that a competent running QB can exploit as Bama having fixed the mid season problems related to not seeing the field when the easy looks aren’t there.

Or even a competent play caller.

I don’t trust anyone’s consistency. As far as Texas, all I can do is pour a drink, sit back and watch.

It’s going to be one hell of a ride for all of us in contention.

12 teams will qualify for the bracket and just like with the MLB playoffs, eleven of those teams will lose their last game.

At that point, none of the regular season rankings and hype will mean squat.

Yeah I don’t feel like I have a good handle on Texas right now.

You had the #1 FEI defense in the country coming into this week, but I can’t shake that UGA game.

Maybe it was the 4 turnovers, but you had 1.1 YPC on the ground and 4.4 YPA. UGA has a good defense but elite teams have done much better than that against them and that was at home.

You have offensive weapons galore, but the offense seems to be less than what the individual parts should add up to. To me that usually means bad QB play or OL play.

So you look at Ewers and he’s sitting there with a 156 rtg and 7.7 YPA despite being surrounded by NFL guys. I mean Thorne at Auburn who is despised by their entire fanbase is at 154 / 8.6 YPA. Yet the NFL and pundits love him.

The schedule has also been horrible, but you’ve played well for the most part against the teams you were supposed to destroy.

Texas can win a championship this year but I see the same question marks with them I do with the rest of the 10-2 teams outside of A&M who statistically are a step behind the rest of the group.

Georgia did a great job. That loss was not on the Texas D. They did everything they could to win.

Breaking down the game comes to a classic case of constant pressure of terrible field position.

Texas has flaws that were beautifully exploited by Georgia that night. The question is, will another team, even Georgia, hit all the right notes to do the same against Texas.

Every game is different, any outcome possible.

All I can do is get drunk and watch.
