What position(s) do you think the staff looks at in the portal this time?

I think we need at least one good DT or DE. Latham and Tim Smith are done and Overton is most likely gone.

Maybe a guard since Booker is done and I believe Robert’s is too.

An elite WR since Cunningham is off the table.

We’re good at WR. Probably need some attrition there.

Probably need some help at ILB and OLB. Safety as well. Maybe tight end or IOL if Brailsford or Roberts leave

We will need help on interior line, as it’s possible we will lose both Guards and the Center. We will also need help at WR. DT and DE, as well as outside and inside LB will also need to be addressed.

I disagree about WR. I think we need a slot WR who can catch and run.

Why would we lose Brailsford?

We definitely need a Top WR. We have one in Brooks coming in and that is not enough.

Because the NFL wants him.

We already have several. Prentice, Adams, Hampton, Jefferson. Brooks coming in. Ryan can play slot too.

I think he needs another year to add a bit of weight before he heads to the NFL.

Alabama is 1 WR short of an elite unit in 2025. Prentice has just been a guy. KLaw is more of a slot back than receiver. Adams can’t stay healthy.

College ball has changed. If you’re in position to win a championship, you don’t hope for development on roster or high school seniors to be immediate impact unless they’re the exception like WR. You just go get a guy.

Honestly, we have ONE proven game changer at WR (Williams). The rest on the roster are solid or unproven. I’m sorry but it’s true.

I’m wondering about WR Johntay Cook from Texas. Former 5 star recruit but has seen his playing time has diminished as the season went on. I’d heard he got into some kind of altercation with a member of the staff at Texas. Not sure if that’s true, if not, he might be worth pursuing, assuming he’s not a cancer in the locker room.

Bernard can be a guy but he's not a game changer. I think everything snaps together with one more threat at WR. Jalen Hale may be that guy but he's coming off a major injury. If Alabama can't sign a sure-thing game 1 starter out of high school - and I wasn't even sure Cunningham was definitely that guy - then they should be scouring everyone else's roster for one.

Always try to upgrade WR, be it recruits or transfers.

You can't afford to rest on what you have, it can change in an instant. Keep cycling them.

Wouldn't mind another TE. Cuevas looks decent as the #3 this year, but an experienced, balanced TE would be a nice addition.

Not sure, but I think this staff is lights out on evaluations.

Every single portal guy they got has worked out really well. Dashawn Jones has been awesome, obv the Washington transfers, and Geno Vandemark has been an amazing backup on the line who can play any position.

Very impressive.

I have no doubt that whoever they decide to bring in will be a good fit
