Vandy's path to the CFP...

According to this SECCG scenario generator, Vandy's path is simple:
1. Win out
2. Tenner beats UGA
I think we can all agree that #1 is more likely than #2, however.

have you seen us this year? We are very inconsistent and could very easily lose to UT.
The chances of vandy beating SC, LSU, and UT is very unlikely.

Georgia reminds me of 2009 Florida. Capable of beating everyone. Capable of losing to anyone in the top 25ish. Just not clicking like Kirby's teams have the last few years.

Yes...a Vandy win in Baton Rouge is probably more likely than a Tennessee win in Athens. Thank you for pointing that out.

We saw it coming when Bowers went pro. That dude makes any qb good.

I think UTK's passing defense statistics might give the impression that they're better than they actually are (going off of opponents passing attempts per game and # of INTs) but their defense is good.
Beck's play in his bad games makes UGA very beatable.

Look at the stats, then look at the sideline. If Willie Martinez is on the sideline, the pass defense is overrated.

I think the main reason is simply a major dropoff in talent. i'm sure all non-UGA fans are going to tell us how great we recruit but when you look at our 2021-2023 rosters postiion by postiion, then compare those dudes to 2024, pretty much across the board we are worse off now than we have been in those other years.

if beck plays like he did saturday we could lose to anyone we play. What is kinda somewhat reassuring thoguh is that most of hsi mistakes are just dumbfrick screwups which you would HOPE can be corrected. The first pick was a stupid decision when he should have just thrown it out of bounds. The 3rd pick he should have just taken the sack. Both of those are very easily correctable. The 2nd pick was just a shite read/throw which can happen from time to time.

They'd need to then beat UGA in the SEC championship game in this scenario. If they lose in the SECCG, there is no way a 4 loss team makes the playoff regardless of whether they were the runner up in a conference championship game.

McConkey also. As a UGA fan I can only speak for myself but I seriously underestimated the impact those 2 leaving would have on UGA's offense. I bought into the Oscar Delp and Lawson Luckie hype and completely overlooked the fact that UGA took a Stanford transfer TE which should have been a flashing red beacon to anyone paying attention. It may well be that Mike Bobo forgot tight ends exist but either way UGA simply does not have a third down receiver 8 games into the season. Coupled with an anemic running game and a QB with as bad a case of the yips as has been seen and its a miracle UGA aint 5-3 or worse.....

Not to look past Ole Miss but there is also the specter of Imaleaving actually connecting on more than one or two long ones against a UGA secondary who has, a couple of times, simply acted as if they were suddenly dropped out of UFO in a totally unfamiliar environment.

how so? It's actually pretty straightforward to see that they control their own destiny should Tenner beat UGA.
