Biggest disgrace in the playoff era is Notre Dame will occupy a permanent spot in the 12.

When the season is over they will have played 1 ranked team and have a home loss to NIU, yet they will be gifted one of the 12 playoff slots. Sports writers will see to it. Guess it a good gig if you can get it and it's gonna happen every year.

This is why Notre Dame always gets blasted in the postseason, they end up in matchups they have no business playing in.

They very likely don’t have that let down vs Northern Illinois if they lose to A&M so they actually then look even better on paper.

ND will finish some seasons 8-4 or 6-6. They aren't getting in every year. In a season like this with a loss to NIU, they better be one of the lowest seeds.
