Once they start looking at open field tackles, they can find indicators.

No it’s probably fear of future lawsuits over CTE. And as much as we love those hits, it freaks casual people out and networks would rather not deal with that noise and bad publicity.

Nah, very few targeting calls until the UGA/Texas game where sark was whining every hit was a target.
Coaches asking for targeting are pussies.

Those are happening with or without targeting.

20 years from now
"Texas cried about a hard hit in the Georgia game and the targeting rule was created, they ruin everything."

That’s rich from a Georgia fan. The amount of whining Kirby has done the past 5 years is insufferable lol. But yeah Sark is the reason for targeting lol. Find me a sound bite or stfu

What has Kirby whined about?
Posted on 10/27/24 at 10:12 am to lewis and herschel
Every call that doesn’t go his way.

Kirby works the refs. As he should. I have no clue where this is going.

True, but the headshots give you more ammo because you can argue the governing body isn’t doing anything about it. And ftr, I’m not arguing for more targeting, but if I’m in charge of running this thing, I’d be thinking about how stuff like this impacts the sport 10 years down the road. There’s already way more kids getting held out of football by their parents out of fear of injury.
The other side to this is that these rule changes fundamentally ruin the game and that’s also true. I’m just trying to look at this from the perspective of the higher ups.

I think the Genesis of the rule has worked, but now they have extended the language to the point of every good hit gets flagged.
Maybe make it 2 targets for ejection and never let what happens in one game go on to the next.

30-15, btch. You sit down and STFU. All we heard from you all this summer was how you were going to come in here and run this conference. First time you played a game against a team with a pulse, you got your teeth kicked in.

Yeah I agree with this. It also seems they’re just throwing more flags in general. Even in the NFL. Every ticky tac thing is getting called and ruining the flow of the game.

Tell me you only watch Georgia football without telling me. It's all over CFB and has been for a few seasons now. The NCAA and individual schools are trying to avoid hundreds of lawsuits from players that didn't make it in the NFL yet still developed CTE 20 years after their CFB days were done.

Poetic justice is why..... He was asking for targets after every play in our game. Straight pussy.

Ain't it the truth! "Damned ole Sark created targeting! It didn't exist until he started crying!!" An entire conference of aggy clones!

For real though, this is bullshite. Nobody who started playing football in the last 20 years went into it oblivious to the fact that it's a violent game. This is like smokers suing tobacco companies when they get lung cancer.

He dumbass, the sec threw very few targeting flags last season and upheld fewer. We were headed that way this year until your pansy coach start yelling targeting after every play in our game.
One sec officials make bullshite calls, they will continue to cover their arse for the rest of the season.
