the ball to Ryan.

“Milroe did not force the ball anywhere,” Shephard said after Wednesday’s practice. “We’re not forcing it anywhere. Let’s change that narrative right now. That did not happen.

I've been in the workforce for decades and now I'm a business owner. This entire coaching staff needs to be scraped. DeBoer isn't a leader. I know he's not Saban but there are too many voices coming out of DeBoer's program. I much prefer Saban's one voice approach. This entire coaching staff is minor league.

You keep talking leadership and at the same time you seem to think leadership should be throwing players under the bus like Freeze rather than taking the heat for them.

I don't think you know as much about leadership as you think you do.

I have a better question:

Why is a guy who has the resume of a job hopper and at best the 3rd most important coach in regards to Alabama's offense giving an interview?

Dude, DeBoer is the real deal. Look at his record. The guy is a genius level coach. His skills in finding and exploiting mismatches in a defense are at least the equal of Kiffin and Sark. DeBoer is a hotter name in the NFL than he is in college football.

re: Kalen DeBoer is going to be a hot commoidty this offseason

From he's a genius level coach to he needs to be fired after 7 games.

If you asked me what I think leadership is that would be one thing. But, now you're projecting onto me what you think I think leadership is. Stop trying to get a rise out of me and talk ball.

This is actually one of the biggest differences with Saban. None of the stuff that's happening would ever see the light of day under Saban because they weren't doing interviews etc. It was kept internal.

I prefer it that way even if people complain.

Exactly so now everyone who says I never supported DeBoer can stop lying on me. I did. And, I now see DeBoer isn't the guy. Only a fool doesn't change their mind. Thank you for posting that.

You just posted this interview while calling it bad leadership.

And I'm telling you right now it's the job of the leader to take that heat and defend the people under him. Nobody is going to follow someone who doesn't have their back and throws them under the bus to look good in front of others.

It's not my fault you aren't smart enough to realize what you are actually saying.

Well he was at Washington then, not Alabama.

Firing a guy who was a genius and the NFL wants after 7 games seems like a bit of an aggressive 180, but we all have our opinions.

Reminds me of my first year of youth basketball. We had a black player who was clearly better than the rest of us. His nickname was Cheeseburger. All you ever heard our coach yelling was get the ball to Cheeseburger.

But to the topic at hand, Jalen clearly forced the ball to Ryan. I'm guessing it's because he realized how off he was and thought that the only guy who might be able to adjust and make plays on the wild throws he was making was Ryan, but he clearly decided to overtarget Ryan. Guy averaged like 6 targets a game for the first 6 weeks then got 19.

I do not think he was told to target Ryan that often, though. I think that was his panicked decision over and over. Shepherd is just covering for his player.

Ryan was wide open all day. Milroe made several bad/behind throws to him.

The coach being interviewed is lying through his teeth. How is lying good leadership?

If both QBs had just hit open receivers the game would have looked a lot more like 2022.

Our coaching staff is the Biden/Harris administration of college football. They constantly gas light us and lie to our faces.

I know Saban isn't there anymore but it is just such a change.

I don't see how Deboer makes beyond Year 3 without an SEC title with all the palace intrigue that surrounds Alabama's football team and his Assistant Coaches giving statements that boosters, fans, and the media parse and dissect.

I don't have any problem with coaches refusing to call our their kids individually in public. I have a problem with it if they aren't doing it in the film room, but I'll take "we all failed and we have to prepare better" and other vanilla talk over "if the QB just doesn't make dumb decisions we win".

Because he's lying to fricks like you who ask stupid questions everyone knows the answer to. Mostly so they can shite on a player.

What the people he's leading, aka those who actually matter, see is someone who's taking one in the media and going to bat for them. You apparently think a good leader is someone who throws them under the bus. They need leaders they are in it with, not leaders who only give a frick about themselves.

I can only imagine you've never been under good leadership in your life to not understand this. Do you even lead a household?

Your attempts to personally insult me shows you're out of your depth with the topic at hand. I feel sorry for you.

Coaches lie every day. One could argue that is exactly what coach speak is.

And please post the examples of you speaking highly of Deboer. I have never seen one. I have found your posts saying he is a horrible defensive coach and he owes all of his offensive success to Penix, to Grubb, and to playing in the Pac 10. I have found your threads saying that his coaching hires were all bad hires. I have found your posts saying he won’t be able to recruit in the SEC. I have found your posts saying he was the wrong guy for Alabama and that he is not up to the job. I have been able to find all those posts. I can link or post them for you if you like.

I can’t however find any posts where you spoke highly of him. No, I can’t find anything but you taking digs at him and Alabama. Last year it was Saban. This year it is Deboer. That is your shtick here. That is the character Shaft Williams plays. We get it. In light of that though, maybe you should refrain from having a discussion about lying.
