I know Saban isn't there anymore but it is just such a change.
I don't see how Deboer makes beyond Year 3 without an SEC title with all the palace intrigue that surrounds Alabama's football team and his Assistant Coaches giving statements that boosters, fans, and the media parse and dissect.
We'll see. I think it will get better and isn't quite as bad as people make it to be. Losses can be valuable in the long run. Saban is kind of the dream coach for me when it comes to how things are handled and his general attitude, but those days are gone - even if Saban was still coaching.
DeBoer is going to be given what he needs to succeed, and if he doesn't someone else will be given what they need to succeed.
As the saying goes, those who listen to the fans will soon be sitting with them.

You might give being an Auburn fan a try, or be honest about it. Hugh Freeze would be your dream coach, he's always throwing people under the bus in the media.

Dude, DeBoer is the real deal. Look at his record. The guy is a genius level coach. His skills in finding and exploiting mismatches in a defense are at least the equal of Kiffin and Sark. DeBoer is a hotter name in the NFL than he is in college football.

Coaches lie every day. One could argue that is exactly what coach speak is.
And please post the examples of you speaking highly of Deboer. I have never seen one. I have found your posts saying he is a horrible defensive coach and he owes all of his offensive success to Penix, to Grubb, and to playing in the Pac 10. I have found your threads saying that his coaching hires were all bad hires. I have found your posts saying he won’t be able to recruit in the SEC. I have found your posts saying he was the wrong guy for Alabama and that he is not up to the job. I have been able to find all those posts. I can link or post them for you if you like.
I can’t however find any posts where you spoke highly of him. No, I can’t find anything but you taking digs at him and Alabama. Last year it was Saban. This year it is Deboer. That is your shtick here. That is the character Shaft Williams plays. We get it. In light of that though, maybe you should refrain from having a discussion about lying.
A bunch of excuse making for the blatant lies and underperformance of the current Bama coaching staff. I'm not changing a damn thing.

Correction. DeBoer is already being given what he needs to succeed. But, DeBoer isn't up to snuff.

Remember the controversy that surrounded the DJ Hall suspension vs. ULM?
There was nothing said by an Assistant Coach that could have been used to criticize Saban after DJ Hall played in the 2nd half. There was also no social media to contradict what Saban said after the game regarding the suspension.
I've been in positions where I've been the guy implementing a culture change and it is a struggle. Going from a relaxed culture to a disciplined structure involved moving a lot of people who were resistant to the change. I don't know how you do it going from a disciplinarian like how Saban was to Deboer and have results that Alabama fans expect.
But you're right, he'll either produce or be sent packing.

Good for you. You'll have shite to post about for a long time. Too bad you lack the balls to show what team you really are a fan of.

Interesting quote you provided. Yet when I search for that post, the only thing that comes up is your quote from just now. The way you misspelled commodity should make it easy to find. Yet it doesn’t show up. Maybe the search function is broken. Do you mind linking it? Surely you didn’t just make up that quote?

There is a real focus by the current administration on getting more african-american business owners. Well, except Elon Musk, they hate that guy. What type of business do you own Shaft?

I couldn’t tell “Shaft” is black from his posting style. I’m glad he made sure we all know that little nugget.

Saban hasn't really been a disciplnarian as of late though. These issues started with NIL. When he was in front of congress, he directly laid out how NIL changed things. Before NIL, everything was about how Saban could develop them as a player(for the NFL) and as a person. That is what the parents and players cared about. Now, they no longer care about that, all they cared about is how much money are they going to get.
And that's why he retired. The culture went from "Develop me into an elite player" into "Pay me money or I'm going to leave and go to the highest bidder". This all happened under Saban, and not even Saban could control it. When was the last time you heard of an Alabama player with big work ethics like players of the past? Not in recent years that I can think of. And it shows. Its talent + putting the work in to be elite. We have the talent, but it doesn't seem like many are putting in the work and that didn't start this year.
It's going to be something everyone deals with, so it's going to be a question of who deals with it best. Maybe treating them as professionals is the best way to approach it, I don't know. But it doesn't seem like being a hard arse is going to work anymore.
Character might become a much more important recruiting stat.

Not true. Democrats play lip service to blacks but their actions always say otherwise. In fact, if you look it up statistically Republican Presidential administrations always loan more via SBA loans to black owned businesses than Democratic party Presidential administrations. So, don't come at me with some bullshite like you know me b/c I'm black. I'm black but not a liberal fool.

It seems a little insulting if not outright racist that someone would create an account named Shaft and pretend to be black. Surely it couldn’t be our friend NFLSU. He would never stand for racism.

So what kind of business do you own? There are a lot of people on this board who might want to honor you with their patronage. The LSU fans here certainly seem to love you.
