Explain Reclassifying to me

Like im 5 years old.
It was always hold them back a year usually redshirting 8th grade.
Now, it seems move them up a year.
Pros/cons of each and how does one get the high school on board?

The old misconception is that you have to do x amount of years to graduate high school when in reality, almost all high schools operate on requiring x amount of credits just like college. A lot of high school students will also take college classes which they can apply to their high school credit counts if the high school approves the class. So you have high school students taking college classes at night and during the summer to count as high school credits.

Education system broken, no body cares anymore. Educators just push these kids out so they can be someone else's problem.

Grade skipping is a form of academic acceleration, often used for academically talented students, that enables the student to skip entirely the curriculum of one or more years of school. Also for works for student athletes.

Most states require a specific set of courses and credits to graduate. Often you can complete these before your senior year.
Pros of reclassying: Money. You can hit the draft earlier, you can hit Colllege NIL deals earlier.
Cons: you’re less physically developed than you would have been a year later.

As someone who went to a good private school, and took almost exclusively AP/elective classes my senior year of high school, I probably could have naturally graduated high school a year early. If you go to a good school, it's relatively easy. The problem is, most good schools don't allow it.
For example, Jahkeem Stewart, the 5 star DT out of New Orleans, went to St. Augustine. When it comes to all black schools in New Orleans, Aug is far and away the best academically. However, It's a private, catholic school that doesn't allow early graduation. Similar to Catholic High in Baton Rouge, Jesuit in New Orleans, etc.
In order to get around that, Stewart transferred to Edna Karr, a public school (and football powerhouse) in New Orleans that would allow him to graduate in what should be December of his Junior year. For Karr, not only can they say that Jahkeem Stewart is a Karr alumnus, they make it so their rival no longer has its' best player

Almost any decent student is finished with high-school requirements by the end of their junior season. Senior year is for AP classes/electives/etc. It's not hard to graduate high school in three years.

Staying back a year is what average athletes do to give themselves an advantage. Reclassifying up is now what elite athletes do to get paid sooner.

Texas formula is you redshirt a year in middle school to get an advantage over everyone else. Then you just wait for pay day. If it comes early or in time, you finish high school in three years. If not, you get an extra year to impress the scouts.

My senior year of HS was boring, I only need 1 math credit and 1 Science credit to finish school and I was already taking college classes to supplement my afternoon, which gave me nearly 30 credits before my freshman year.
I assume these kids are maxing out their classroom schedule and perhaps taking an extra class or two in the summer.
Not all schools offer this, but he must be at a place that does
