I watch a lot of games every Saturday but I do tend to favor SEC games as I believe it is the best conferences I will turn on other conferences big games and if their top teams are down or in a nailbiter I may tune in as well. I have not seen a team go down as much as Ole Miss has when I have watched their last 2 games vs Kentucky and South Carolina. I am not sure if any other program is abusing this system/ruling as much as them but do y'all think something will be put in place because of this. Other teams coaches are mentioning it to the higher ups.
P.S I have heard that Tenn sometimes does this as well with the same player if any Vols fans would like to chime in I have not watched as much as their games as Ole Miss.

It’s ridiculous the amount of people that go down for them late and then return after 1 play.

Maybe. Probably. Right now the SEC has no idea how to enforce it. So I'm back to maybe.

Maybe just fine universities for this after they have a chance to review the videos? I understand during the game that there’s not much they can probably do about it.

I actually think that is Lane's plan.
People forget that we were one of the teams doing the go super fast thing. Teams did this to us a lot.
Okay.
That's cool.
Hold my beer.

Maybe something along the lines of "If a player goes down with an injury causing an injury time out, then that player has to sit out the rest of the series." Of course, you just don't have one of your main guys be the one going do and that's no big deal.

In another thread, it was suggested an injured player sit out an entire drive. However that leads to another situation. Teams could attempt to injure a star player to get them out of a game during a key drive and possibly only incur a 15 yard penalty.

They probably do this anyway. And if a dude is injured he will be out however many plays. But a flopper who is back in two plays is no bueno.
It really is a shittey was to try and kill an opponents momentum. That's why Kiffen is so good at it.

A&M had a guy fake one up by 34 with 15 seconds to play.
It needs a penalty with some teeth

A rule change is 100% the point for up tempo teams like Tennessee and Ole Miss who exaggerate this.

He is trying to get the rule changed. It has become obvious lately. He does it when we have already won the game and he has done it on offense. He keeps calling for the rule change. All coaches need to change the rule.
The flip side is their needs to be a substitution rule change for defenses. A certain amount of the 40 second clock needs to be allotted for substitutions. This isn’t a track meet.

That’s literally what we’re trying to do

He had a cramp. A&M would never do that.

Ppl don’t get it bc it’s all new to them. They (most) haven’t been running fast paced offenses for over a decade like Ole Miss. Teams have been doing this to Ole Miss for many many years now.
I hope we do to every time a team gets a first down. I don’t GaS if know nothing commentators influence the idiotic masses into thinking Ole Miss started this. So what? We might not have started it but we will finish it.

Realistically: players who go down with injuries should sit out a whole series

Umm...the irony of an LSU fan making this thread, lolz.
Granted the Longhorns don't have a lot of recent history with swamp tigah (mostly cuz ya'll ducked playing us because of wuflu, we were ready to go) but I do remember in '19 your players were dropping like flies with fake injuries late in the game when the score was tight and it seemed like we had momentum to drive down and score.

Two years ago the NCAA had this problem on their radar. A suggested rule that would have forced an ‘injured’ player to sit out for the series was rejected by several unnamed coaches as they feared it might cause players to hide minor injuries to avoid coming out of a game. Kiffin actually suggested sitting injured players AND having the league review game tape to apply a financial penalty on an offending school if a fake injury was revealed.
“Curiously, Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin — whose team was thought to be a major perpetrator of faking injuries — suggested last season that more stringent measures would work.
“I don’t think you’re really going to stop (faking injuries) until the guy has to stay out for so many plays,” Kiffin said on Oct. 20. “Like anything, there’s got to be a penalty to it. If you really want to change it, let the conference review it, look at the film and when they deem it to be an obvious faking of an injury, then there’s a penalty (like) a fine.”
Methinks some of the loudest complainers should be questioned about their votes. Faking injuries has become another excuse when they lose.

They should have to sit out the drive after it happens a certain amount of times

It’s one thing to do it on defense when other teams are on a roll
Now they doing it on offense since the clock is running more to extend game
It’s ridiculous
