Nicholson barely made his first FG by inches.

I'm back to being nervous everytime we kick...even with the LG award winner at kicker.

Obviously want to score TDs, but would like to see him get a couple of 50 yarders under his belt in a game like Vandy.

He needs to kick 7-9 extra points a game and then go mingle at the Chi Omega house.

lol...true...but I'd still like to see him get some kicks in before he's called for a game winner in Neyland stadium or something. I know he's a really good kicker...that near miss Sat night just kinda shook me.

He made it, right? It was on the right hash mark, which makes short FG attempts a little more awkward.
Other than the off center, the kick was solid, right?
He's made all his XPs, right?

I think we're ok, so far.

I mean his Groza award is fraudulent and he doesn't really have the leg to be consistent out past 40 yards or so. I hope we don't have to rely on any big game winning kicks from him.

I was really hoping he would get the opportunity to kick several in the second half. Just having the cushion of getting 3 every possession (and getting the validation that our kicker could consistently make them) would have made me relax a bit more.

The only kicks so far were the miss at Wisconsin and the make against GA and I believe both were from the right hash? The kicks look solid with plenty of leg but very straight trajectory (very little draw or fade). Maybe he is best in the middle of the hashes? Just an observation I don't know shite about FG kicking.

He doesn't seem like a dependable kicker.

Game on the line. 45 yarder to win. He's not making that shite.

This guy beat out Reichard last year for the Groza?? WTF? Either some cash exchanged hands, or the committee that decided this was made up of Tennessee, Auburn, and LSU alumni.

The guy won the frickin Groza for crying out loud.

You’ve deduced that he’s not dependable all of a sudden from all of his 2 field goal attempts and zero PAT misses?

For real, some of yall are legit football retarded

This might come as a shock, but Reichard being a stud kicker does absolutely nothing for Alabama football in 2024

We got a great transfer, he’ll be fine

genuinely so funny to draw that conclusion after a guy has kicked all of 2 field goals. a real meeting of the minds taking shape.

I mean he's kicked 2 field goals and neither of them looked good. He's 6 inches from being 0/2

I hope he proves the naysayers wrong, but kicking is such a mental game. All of these kickers are physically capable, and have probably made 60 yarders in practice. What separates kickers is their ability to handle nerves and pressure. While a kicker may be able to handle Miami (Ohio), Alabama is a completely different universe in terms of pressure.

I do, I was a kicker.

Your observation is correct, and it’s very common. Kickers can and usually are hash dependent. Now in a must win situation the OC already knows which spot that is on the field and will run the down play to that spot. When you are actively trying to score a touchdown it is what it is. A kicker practices from every spot imaginable but, you will have a spot that you simply are not as good at. He needs centerfield spotting from my observation. He also needs to have his plant foot slightly higher up the kick, this will get him the desired height, I noticed a few of his kicks were lower.
