Scripted Plays vs Coaching Adjustments

We obviously had the play calling going early in this game. I feel like a lot of those early calls were scripted plays and we knew what we were going to do. They were brilliant. However, offensively, I don't feel like we adjusted very well in this game. The coaching staff has to get better at situational football and not having conservative play calling.

Milroe just kept the ball when he should have handed it off when they made the adjustments

I mean the first two quarters aren’t scripted. They definitely took the foot of the gas the second half imo.

The insistence on running wide after they had adjusted to it baffled me. The RB runs up the middle were fairly effective and you needed to run clock, should’ve kept at it.
Conversely, if Justice Haynes just runs forward instead of shuffling his feet, we would’ve got the first down on the last drive before they took the lead.

We stopped trying to blitz in the second half. Gave Beck all day to throw to the deep corners with an isolated freshman

In the NFL, teams often script around 15 plays. The first three TDs we had were in 17 plays.
First half was one of the most electrifying moments I've seen in Bama football. Playcalling was on-point.

Strangest game I have seen. No pressure on Beck hurt and he ran up the middle a few times. Happy to beat Georgia.

We only had 3ish drives in the second half before the RW score while Georgia put up 21. Georgia had one first down conversion, but 7-8 fourth down conversions. They just kept converting
Mike Bobo is a horrendous playcaller but Jesus if he and Beck didn’t pull off the cleanest second half comeback I’ve ever seen

Refs helped with that.

With that being said.... We had one DPI that wasn't called in the 1st half. There was one drive that I have NO clue what Justice Haynes was doing. he slowed down and didn't go through for the first down.

They script 15 plays because that’s normally the first couple drives. Nobody is scripting plays after multiple tds and possessions

Yeah Haynes was really disappointing tonight. Missed lot of plays that were open

That's my point?
We scored 21 points in 17 plays (possibly scripted). After that, we had 17 points in 48 plays.

We got very vanilla on defense for the 4th down calls because I think the coaches were worried about Beck going over the top sniffing for quick scores. If every drive in the 2nd half went like their first scoring drive of the half, I couldn't argue with the strategy. If they had 3x 5+ minute touchdown drives then that game would've basically been over with a few first downs at the end. However, they were converting those drive starters then hitting big throws to score fast.

I don’t think it was script as much as us showing some new looks and it took UGA a while to adjust to it. Also we took our foot off the gas.

Overall yes but we have to give the man his flowers with the TD catch

Yea, but we never went back to some of those looks.
With that being said... It wasn't all on the coaching.
- Germie B. got reamed. no call DPI which stopped a drive.
- Milroe INT stopped a drive.
- Haynes slowed down on a 3rd down.
- Milroe on a RPO jet sweep should have handed it to Germie and ran up the middle.

Do you really not understand that teams only script the first few drives?
