Nah, Texas looks more deserving.

Only if one of them dominates.

Pretty much a sure thing unless it's like a 9-6 game and both offenses look terrible. The winner will deserve to be #1

True, and they will deserve it.

False. Unless it’s a dominant win

I think Alabama needs to dominate to get that 1 ranking. Georgia just needs to win. Texas win over Michigan is pretty fricking stout now after yesterday.

True if it's UGA.

Perhaps not true if it's Bama... but probably.

Poll voters are stupid. The winner should be #1. But moving #2 over #1 who doesn't lose is something they're willing to do. Moving #4 up to #1... perhaps not.

It is?

I thought Michigan looked somewhat pedestrian yesterday. If anything Clemson is doing more to bolster UGA's early win than Michigan is for Texas.

Texas plays Miss. State, so that's not likely to impress anybody. If I were a voter, I'd vote for the 'Bama-UGA winner as #1. For now. But no reason to get panties in a wad. There are plenty of other showdowns ahead of us. This may be the most unpredictable season in history.

I can't imagine a world in which the winner of this game isn't the #1 team the following day.

To this point - whoever wins - it will be the best win by any team this season.

I agree with this as well. I looked at Clemson schedule and they could easily run the table and finish top 10.

I'm not sure, but at that point the winner of Bama/UGA will not only be undefeated, but also have a better win than we do. (mich was #7 at the time iirc)

Depends on the voters, but I have no idea which direction they go. I'd be more than happy with #2 until all is said and done...then #1 will happily be accepted.

Should be. Either will have the best win of the season by far.

Should be, but it won’t matter.

All that matters is the loser of that game loses the ability to have a hiccup game the rest of the season.

10-2 for either team looks good enough for right now to still be in the playoff if they’re losses to good teams. Can’t stumble against a lesser team.
