Keys for me for the Arky game

Both teams are not very good. Auburn’s roster is a little better than Arkansas. That’s why I picked Auburn in the prediction thread.

For me the team that wins does the best in these categories…

Being physical - which ever team is the most physical probably wins.

Assignment football - play your fricking position. Especially on defense. Do your assessment.

Turnovers - both teams turn the ball over. Auburn needs to be neutral or on the plus side to win.

Penalties - flags galore for all teams this season. Sloppy football all over the country. Whoever plays cleanly puts themselves in a great position to win the game

If we can run the ball, and protect then I expect Hank will keep us in it. If we get caught behind the chains in a lot of 3rd and longs, I don’t like our chances.

I don’t trust our defense at all against Petrino.

Petrino’s offense is going to run through our defense like shite through a tin horn. Our best bet is to run the ball and try to limit their possessions.

If our missed tackles is under 15 we win.

I agree in the season but in the grand scheme no. But to meet expectations for this season I would say yes however if at the beginning of the season we knew we had a QB that had zero starting experience with all the youth at WR and the secondary would we have said 8-4 is the expectation?

We really need to work on this.

Are we like minus 7 or some such for the season?

Fumbles, interceptions.

The fumbles when the helmet strikes the ball are elite defensive plays, but in modern football I guess get to the ground unless it’s fourth down? How do you prevent those?

Interceptions: I’ve always thought some interceptions should be attributed to the receiver IF the ball is thrown on target. Tipped balls are the worst.

They are one in the same...

But some expectation was that we had a QB that was serviceable.

Its important. Very important. You guys can keep talking talent and bad recruiting all you want. We are the 18th most talented roster in college football. And just using that as a guideline, we are not playing anything close to that. Coaching and preparation.

A lot of people did not think we would go 8-4 this season. Much worse. 6-6 or 7-5 at very best. Right now, 6-6 may be our destination if all goes well.

Again

We all know Hugh needs a top 10 roster to beat the likes of Cal, New Mexico State, and Maryland. Just need a few more recruiting cycles to compete with those powerhouses.

We should wait till the game. Melt together, no gay. The melt for me just doesnt last as long these days. I honestly expect bad things to happen with this program now. There is something missing that is not a wide receiver, kicker or wheel route. Someone, think it was Third, said they hope Hank has the "it" factor yesterday. I think it is along the lines of that.

There is a spiritul/Voodoo thing that we lost that needs to be found again.

I'm still not convinced we won't go 8-4.

With a forecast of 90 and sitting in the sun, melting isn't optional regardless of the outcome. It will probably feel like 100.
