As an opposing defense/offense how do you beat them? I'm not trying to sound boastful just asking. Their DB's are phenomenal, LB is up there with best in the country, DL is 3 deep, OL has a top 10 draft and is veteran, QB is legit 2 deep, WR has 2 5 stars Bond isn't one of them, running game maybe? I think injuries maybe, but this team is fast, big, and deep. Someone please talk me into a single loss.

DB play last year was atrocious and still went 11-1, this DB is a strength now. I'd like to think a rivalry throws records out the windows but if all goes like we all think this game won't be close.

You don't know shite about your secondary or even your Dline yet.

We got 5 sacks against your "NFL Oline" last year with a bunch of scrubs up front and you had to go max protect in the 2nd half.

We will do so again.

Have you seen OU play? Lets me honest they suck. Texas has a better chance of losing to UGA, Arkansas, even Aggie.

Texas looks fantastic, but they haven’t played a tough team yet. The Michigan win is looking worse by the week.

Let the Horns get through the OU-Georgia gauntlet before starting this type of thread.

Generally the idea is to score more points than your opponent in an actual game. Winning on paper is easy if meaningless

By stealing the play calls.. or with a really good QB who has an exceptional day.. someone that spreads the ball out..

From Thamel:

So how significant to the actual game is Clemson’s ability to swipe and communicate signs? A lot, according to multiple coaches and assistants that Clemson plays regularly who spoke anonymously to Yahoo Sports. One coach termed it this way: “They are incredible at it. When you play them, it’s not an even playing field, they have so many [analysts] who are able to do that.”

When you are watching Clemson’s defense against Ohio State on Friday, notice how all 11 defenders are facing Venables until the moment before the snap. Opposing coaches say that Clemson will steal your sign and then Venables will signal it with a counter call in the moments before the snap. One of the tells of Clemson’s approach with this, according to opposing coaches, is that Venables is the only one signaling in the Tigers’ defensive plays. That means he’s sending them so late, and the coaches assume in reaction to what they’ve swiped, that Clemson’s defensive coaches don’t even appear to worry about anyone stealing their signals.

“If they don’t have a plan for Clemson’s signal stealers, then Clemson is going to know every play,” said one of the coaches. “They should be in the KGB stealing communications, they’re that good.”

Bobby Petrino was named Arkansas' offensive coordinator less than a week ago, but he seems nothing if not motivated to keep things interesting.

Less than 24 hours after Petrino made headlines for talking about Jimbo Fisher's complicated offensive schemes, he invoked Clemson during its most dominant era when discussing the Michigan sign-stealing scandal and putting radios in helmets.

“I don’t know anything about, you know, Michigan and what they did or any of that. I honestly didn’t pay any attention to it,” Petrino said Thursday. “But I do know when you went and played Clemson, that they were going to have your signals.”

Another Link: Petrino says Clemson steals signs

There are a ton of links to him specifically.
but, maybe all of those coaches are full of shite.

Dillon ain't walking on at OU before October is he? Our defensive backfield was the issue last year, that issue has been fixed with the transfer portal and younger guys stepping up for those who went to the NFL.

When you put it this way, I guess there is no chance at stopping Texas this year. Impossible task.

So people who were losing to Clemson a lot. Seems legit...

Every team does this. I see it every Saturday.

Opposing coaches say that Clemson will steal your sign and then Venables will signal it with a counter call in the moments before the snap.

So a DC watches how the offense lines up, and changes the call to adjust based upon their alignment, just like every DC does. It's thievery I tell ya!

quote:

One of the tells of Clemson’s approach with this, according to opposing coaches, is that Venables is the only one signaling in the Tigers’ defensive plays.

Waaaaait a minute. The DC is the only one sending in signals to his defense? Eureka! We've found our smoking gun!

Just embarrassing....
