Looks like Saban’s name is going to be attached to Bryant-Denny…

Bryant-Saban Stadium.
It better just not be Nick Saban Field at Bryant Denny Stadium. He has earned more than that

Tony LongLastName posted that it’ll be the field that’s getting named after him.

Feel like it should be Denny Field at Bryant-Saban Stadium tbh

That’s fkn sad. Pat Dye and Bobby Bowden both have the fields named after them and you never hear JHS stadium referred to “Pat Dye Field at Jordan-Hare Stadium”

Especially since renaming the stadium's field to Denny Field is more of a nod to history anyway. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Denny_Field_(Alabama)

Yep.
It should be Denny Field at Bryant-Saban Stadium.

Name the Champions plaza after him.

The name "Denny" can be removed, IMO. He's got chimes already named.

This is ridiculous. Saban deserves considerably more than this.
No one ever says refers to the field when referring to the stadium. Huge disappointment in the University if this is the only naming honor Saban gets.

This all day. There's already history there and it's more appropriate even if there wasn't.

My preference is Saban’s name on the stadium. Field naming is a joke, most SEC stadiums have field names and no one ever refers to them. Unless we want to start calling it Saban field, like Kyle field then this is a slight. Hopefully the BOT has some members that are not idiots

No it isn't. The man already has a statue outside the stadium. Even if they hadn't renamed anything, he has already been extensively honored and paid well over a hundred million.
Just write "Nick Saban Field" across from the SEC logo at the 25 yard line. That would guarantee that it's seen. A bunch of teams already do that with named fields. I'm thankful that the university had better sense than the people advocating for naming conventions that would have resulted in "BS Stadium."

I think the VAST majority of Bama fans hate this and want his name on the stadium. Unfortunately, I have very little faith that the BoT will change their minds and do the right thing.
Maybe they should have done some public polling or focus groups before voting on it today

So the greatest coach in the history of the game, the one coach to eclipse The Bear doesn’t deserve the same honor as The Bear? That’s just stupid.
Like I said, almost every SEC has a named field, and no one refers to the stadium by that name. Saban’s name needs to be on the stadium, anything else is less than what he deserves and a slight.

Coach Bryant's name was added to the Stadium during his 18th year by the Alabama Legisature. Bryant continued to coach at alabama for 8 more seasons and then stepped aside to retain his position as AD. On top of his 25 years as coach he was also a player at Alabama for 4 additional years. Bryant also gave more to the University than the University every paid him to be the coach. Coach Saban had just completed his 17th season at Alabama when he chose to step down from his coaching position at Alabama.
The Naming of the Stadium for Bryant was both success and longevity. Saban has the success but did not match the longevity. Naming the field for Saban is an honor and a well deserved honor at that. The honor of Field naming does not rise to the level of a slight vs stadium naming when longevity is considered. There is a pretty big difference between Bryant and his 29 years of service and Saban with his 17 years.
