Since Texas’ schedule is a lot easier this season than last season.. they should coast right into the playoffs

True or False!?

Don't think a 3 or 4 loss team is getting into the playoffs. So... FALSE.

People exaggerate when they talk about the 'easy' Texas schedule.
Texas plays the last 2 teams to win a natty. Also, Oklahoma always gives Texas fits. As far as the other 6 SEC teams Texas will play, we don't really know how good any of them will be until they actually start the season.

But, but...we were told....just you wait Texas...just wait until you have to play in the SEC.

SEC fans, "You are going to see Texas...playing in the SEC is not easy."

Bama fan, "Since Texas’ schedule is a lot easier this season..." in the SEC??????

The big bad SEC...and only now playing in the SEC is easy?

Exactly. Michigan. Georgia.

Kentucky is a solid program/team.

Arkansas and Aggy are both old time rivalry games where you can throw out rankings.

Miss St., Vandy, and Florida are the only games that *shouldn't* have some pucker factor.

Georgia was going for 30 games in a row and a 3-peat in NCs. They had the weakest schedule in the SEC, dropping Oklahoma for UT Martin or Ball State, I get those juggernauts confused.

BAMA, per usual, beats them in the SECCG and they are toast. Mostly because their schedule was so bad they couldn't justify them in over the shorthorns.

The shorthorns are going to have to grind like never before. Something not in Sarkisian's history. They had a couple of near-death experiences against a much weaker league last season, even with their brand-new schedule. You don't count chickens in the SEC.

Wait just a minute. I was told that all SEC teams were far and away the best in the country. And that every weekend was going to be as though we were going to go thru “THE GAUNTLET”, and that every game against the SEC team was as if playing in a Super Bowl. Now, I know we’re not playing any tough OOC games such as APP STATE or WAKE, but we do have Michigan as one OOC game. How can any SEC team have a “easier” schedule?

I love how a thread about Texas suddenly has a Georgia-obsessed bama fan chiming in.

Then dig for content. I'm making a comparison that requires just a little mental dexterity. I know, unheard of in these parts.

My whole life, I have been hearing, "If only Texas had to play an SEC schedule." Now that we are, people are saying we got an easy schedule. I didn't know there was such a thing as an easy SEC schedule.

It used to be that people acknowledged that rivalry games were special. Throw the records out the window. Bama needed a miracle to beat a trash Auburn team, but no one holds it against them, because it was a rivalry game. Texas plays 3 major rivalry games this year, none of them are in Austin but, somehow, this is an easy schedule.

Only 1 team in America plays the teams that have won the last 3 national titles but, somehow, Texas has an easy schedule.

Texas has an experienced QB & o-line and should be a solid team, and you guys are doing all kinds of mental gymnastics to psychologically prepare for this season.

I, for one, am not sleeping on Florida. They have a tough schedule and may even have a few losses when we play, but they will be a talented team. I can easily see an overconfident TX team getting beat at home, regardless of our record at the time.

We haven't won shite this season. OU, Arkansas and aggy are gonna play their hardest against us and none of those are in Austin. Going to Michigan is tough and so is hosting Georgia. Doesn't seem a lot easier than last year.

Time will tell. Sark & PK struggled at times with Big12 coaching staffs/QBs. They basically neutered Sark with the three high safety until he was forced out of it. The only staff the PA shots really worked against consistently was Alabama. Defensively, Sark chose to go quarters as our base coverage with the advice of Gary Patterson. Though we never recruited the elite man DBs necessary to blanket Big12 offenses until recently. I think we’ll actually benefit from the weak QB play in our schedule and some of the lesser coaching staffs in the middle pack SEC schools.

Dude, Miss St. probably the most underrated team in the country.

I think Texas has a sleeper schedule. It could turn out to be tougher than expected. I think us Gators might be better than everyone expects just without the record to back it up.

From what I’ve read, we’re not playing a true SEC schedule.
I suppose either way, the prophecy is fulfilled. If we perform poorly this year, it will be “they can’t handle the SEC”. If we do well, then we aren’t playing a true schedule. Oh well, either way, we’re here and excited for this new chapter.
