So they're considering hiring Michael Earley, who was a part of Schloss' scheme?

He allegedly agreed to go to Texas months ago and has been actively working for them on A&M's dime since then, according to many Aggie fans.

That's Earley, to the far left:

I think a lot of the smoke around Earley is that the players are asking for him. The ones that have been vocal and appear to be interested in sticking around.

Also he looks depressed. Lol

I think it's just the way he takes headshots.

At minimum, this dude was hired by Schloss, had knowledge of tMutiny, and went with Schloss to Austin.

Seems risky.

I agree with you but we have a bunch of players in the portal advocating for him.

These situations are how you end up with coaches like Matt Luke and Ed Orgeron.

And those guys didn't even bail on their respective schools.

You should always let the players dictate coaching decisions.

Option A
Hire someone lie Skip Johnson
Lose the entire offense
Lose key portal transfers
Lose key high commits
Hope Skip come bring in some of his own transfers & commits
Likely be bad in 2025
Hope he can built the program back up

Option B
Hire Earley
Keep the majority of the offense, portal, & HS Commits
Likely be great in 2025
Hope he can be successful as a first time HC.

Reminds me of when Saban sent a plane to East Lansing and invited any assistant coach to get on and follow him to LSU. Most declined and decided to stay back with Bobby Williams, the running backs coach who was a "players coach" guy that most of the players advocated for getting the HC role

Michigan State would go 16-19 over the next three seasons

That was 100 years ago, a different sport, and a completely different college landscape with NIL & Portal.

1999 was 100 years ago?

More recent example: Mark Adams at Texas tech. Did great with the team Beard assembled for him, then completely crumbled once those players started to filter out

Why do you assume everyone leaves if we don’t hire Earley? I get players like him but the next coach will surely get a shot to keep them. I also wouldn’t be surprised if guys leave even with Earley. Lots of good programs have a chance to go after them.

Regardless, incredibly short sighted to make your decision based on keeping together a team of guys for one season.

Experts say that sometimes it can take months or even years to recover from a cult. This man may not smile again for a long time, maybe even years until he is reprogrammed out of the aggy lifestyle.

I get all of that, just seems odd to even consider someone who was a part of Schloss' scheme.
