Question for Aggies- Double standard

Let's assume the roles were reversed.
Texas loses the title Monday night and has a top 3 coach who Trev Alberts was able to convince to come to A&M and bring coaches and players with him.
So, you would act the same way and be mad at Alberts for tampering and be embarrassed your university for acting like that? Would you no longer support the coach because of the way he treated his old school?
You're full of shite if you say you would. You'd be thrilled to death you got a top 3 coach and kicked your rival in the nuts and left them hanging.

It's fine to be angry that it happened, I would be too, that's completely understandable.
I also admit I'd love to do the same thing to a rival, it'd be glorious.
All of the posturing about morals, the excuses, conspiracy theories, etc are weak. Aggie poaches any coach they can, just like anyone else.

Would still be a sleazy move

and you still wouldn't care and would buy your season tickets.
Im just saying college sports nowadays are ruthless and have gone off the deep end. Look at USC and Lincoln Riley. Its the new normal

Don’t disagree it has gone off the rails. Some kind of rules are going to have to be put in place or you will be seeing more schools taking entire staff and rosters from other schools. That is not a sustainable system. Pros have contracts and trade deadlines for reasons. If college players want to be paid, there has to be some contractual obligations to go with it.

There have been some great off season moves this year to get some of these rivalries going again.
UGA schedules Auburn for homecoming
Texas takes A&m's coach right after playing for the national title.
Well done.

You're damn right if the roles were reversed and a&m had the opportunity to hire away a big name, successful coach from Texas and stick it to them, they would do it in a heartbeat. I do understand about them being upset. Who wouldn't be? However, that's just the way it is today. aggy got gamed, humiliated and embarrassed by their biggest rival. Deal with it. Accept it and move on.

quote:Grabbing Schloss from TCU comes to mind. I mean sure TCU didn't just come off a title game, but Schloss usually has them in the hunt and regularly beat aggy when they had a chance to play.

TCU and A&M weren't rivals and hadn't been in same conference since 1995. You guys did this on purpose to make yourselves feel like badasses as you enter SEC.

I feel like they did it to get a good coach. Aggy is collateral damage.

Elko did the same to Duke. Raved about how much he and his family loved Duke and he’s committed. Left 24 hours later

Oh look, it’s the hypothetical moral equivalency approach to debate where we get to make up any non-zero scenario and then try to use it as leverage to an argument of hypocrisy.
Since we are doing that now; what if CDC had to promise three handjobs a day and the use of his office once a week for Schloss’s swinger parties? Would you be mad then?
fricking idiot.

I'd call it out just the same. It's not acceptable to be recruiting a head coach while he is actively in the process of playing for a national title at another school.

bullshite. It’s not acceptable for the head coach to be actively entertaining a coaching recruitment while playing for a national title. It’s also not acceptable for a coach and his staff to be actively recruiting for another school while playing for a national title and still under contract to that school. Texas needs to look out for Texas. This is on Schlossnagle.
