Sad day for A&M, but a sadder day for college athletics across the board

UT just bought A&M's entire baseball program as a package deal. Coach, staff, and players who are entering the portal left and right, mostly to follow the coaches to Austin for NIL deals that have already been offered according to a number of sources.
The team A&M should be fielding next year, will all be in Austin just wearing different jerseys than if they had stayed at A&M.
This is the state of college athletics.
Regardless of how you feel about UT, A&M, Schloss, Del Conte, etc. The saddest truth in all this is that college sports are broken, and probably will never be repaired.
The programs many of us grew up identifying with on a deep personal level are wholesale bought and paid for on an open market now.
I know this is the Rant, and most replies will just be calling me a poor bitter Aggy or whatever. But in my opinion this bigger than that. This is a dark day for college sports across the board, and I believe an inevitable sign of the future of college athletics.
There is absolutely nothing in place to stop this from happening to any other program in any sport if a donor at another program is willing to cut a big enough check. And many of you know deep down that's true, whether you'll admit it or not.
That's my personal takeaway from this situation. Just wanted to put it out there.

How do you think G5 fans feel?
The only player worth a shite on our squad last year will be playing WR for the Aggies this fall

I would feel bad if your football team didn’t pay 30 million for a #1 recruiting class

it sucks but I guarantee you Aggies will find 40 players that want to play baseball in the SEC and pretty good players at that and it won't take long to ratchet the talent level back up
the transition year will suck but all teams are going to be in the same boat when coaches leave for whatever reason

This is about a couple of universities that constantly get their nuts caught in their zippers trying to measure each other's weiners.

We didn't. We paid about $5M if you do the math.

Why didn't your program match the offer?

Kinda sucks but enough of the crying. If roles were reversed we'd be throwing a parade. Time to regroup and move on.

College athletics in major money making sports hasn’t been college in decades. It’s big business and the athletes are finally getting to take part in the financial aspect instead of the fallacy of a scholarship being the pay when some of these players have to be babied in crap majors to even be eligible.
It’s minor leagues and the idea that they are student athletes is a joke.
You got screwed we get it. That’s what happens in big business, no one has ethics.
