The nation's snobbiest cities (the South has a few of them)..................

20. Irvine, CA
19. Kansas City
18. Providence, RI
17. San Francisco
16. Scottsdale, AZ
15. Seattle, WA (people don't tan here...they rust instead. Can't stand this place)
14. Honolulu, HI
13. DALLAS
Everything is bigger in Texas, and that includes the attitudes. While you may expect for the Big D to have a bit of southern charm, but when it comes to outsiders, Dallas residents can be a little on the snobby side. According to Travel + Leisure Magazine, “Big D reminds readers what old-school attitude is about: this is a city where right-of-way is determined by blue-book value, and the stereotypically well-coiffed locals struck readers as the opposite of quirky.”
12. Salt Lake City
11. CHARLESTON
As one of the south’s most well-known cities, Charleston is full of ‘old money.’ Well money isn’t the only thing being passed down, apparently the attitudes are as well – and many of the people in Charleston don’t take too kindly to people who don’t come from money.
10. Phoenix
9. San Diego (this once-casual laid-back city in paradise has been ruined by the liberals....very sad)
8. Las Vegas
7. TAMPA
Out of all the cities in Florida, Tampa is probably one you’d least expect to make its way onto this list. However, the people of Tampa have a reputation for being downright rude, and certainly don’t subscribe to the slow-paced southern stereotype. South Tampa in particular is known for being full of luxury and it’s not uncommon to see expensive cars lining the street.
6. Washington, DC
5. Boston
4. MIAMI
If you’ve ever been to Miami, it’s very easy to see why locals would be snobby. Miami is a very popular vacation destination, and South Beach is full of beautiful sites, beautiful people, and plenty of fun things to do. In fact, Miami is so cool that you may even find yourself feeling a little snobby just from visiting.
3. ATLANTA
Atlanta is one of the south’s most popular cities and people from all over the country have been relocating to the ATL. Now full of young professionals and entrepreneurs, Atlanta has also become a hot spot for many celebrities in the movie, music and entertainment industries. For some people, just living in the same city as a star is enough to make them feel like they’ve earned bragging rights.
2. LOS ANGELES (had to throw in my hometown 'cuz unfortunately, we own the art of being snobby)
It goes without saying that a place that has been dubbed The City of Angels, is a very special place. Los Angeles is known for being home to the stars, and some of the biggest names in the world frequent the city. However, it’s not just the stars that make L.A. shine. The city is known for being a mecca of good-looking and talented people, and as a result, those living in the city tend to think pretty highly of themselves.
#1....New York City (goes without saying)

I see a lot of some southern cities listed with a huge population of northern transplants. Charleston is going to Charleston though.

Every city has its old-money clique that's not open to application.

My best friend of 40 years has lived in Charleston for 15 years and he would definitely confirm this ranking.
His ex-wife is a professor at College of Charleston and comes from fairly big and old money. Her dad is a big time attorney and a player in South Carolina politics. They lived in James Island where the median home price is around $625,000 and they’re considered middle class in Charleston. He also says Charleston has had a large influx of rich liberals from the northeast. Nothing much snobbier than that. It’s a beautiful city but that sounds dreadful.

Charleston is super snobby. Mobile too. Both have a lot of people whose families have lived there forever.

Atlanta looks like a 3rd world country capital. They have nothing to be snobby about

I don't know if you are trolling or what part of Atlanta you've been in. Like any large city it has some tough areas, but as a whole it's a rather nice place. I don't care for Atalanta because of it's politics, but I've not felt in danger at all when I go up there, and everything seems nice the times I've been up there.

Dude, Atlanta is the Detroit of the South.

I lived in the DFW area for 3 years and in San Angelo for 2 years prior to that. No only is TX so snobby, it has the ability to make you feel like you're not good enough when in reality they are some of the most stuck up conceded A$$holes I have ever met.
I lived in SC for 11 years in mid state (near Columbia). For the 1st 6 years I was labeled an outsider. I couldn't hunt anywhere in the state unless I knew somebody. People talk about you behind your back and are just plain rude. Southern hospitality went out the window when the good-ole-boys took over.
Hell, I had an issue with the housing board one year and called for an investigation from the state. What allowed me to win my case was the fact that I went to the inspector and apologized for the RACIST dealer of my home. He refused to shake his hand and made his employees tell the Black inspector not to try to shake.
When I finally got in with a group of Christian men at my church, things changed, but the network is and will always be in control in that pitiful state!

Tampa and Miami definitely deserve to be on this list.

Charleston is one of the friendliest least-snobby cities in the world. The old-money thing is more of a thing in Savannah than Charleston.
Atlanta? This list doesn't even give a reason, it just says celebrities have homes here because of the entertainment industry.

Yeah....nothing looks as 3rd-world, sophisticated and cosmopolitan like Maryville, Tennessee.

Charleston definitely has a lot of big money families that live there. However, I've visited Charleston close to 50 times over the years and have never found it overly snobby.

List seems off but this part:
If they’re referring to Bradenton down into Sarasota and Naples then, yeah, it’s full of overly rich northeasterners, Midwest snowbirds, and wealthy Europeans. Collectively the most obnoxiously shitty group of people in one general area.

Charleston is a great place. My impression is that there are areas of Charleston that like the imagage of snobbery but the people there are very friendly. There's even a restaurant called SNOB for Slightly North of Broad, but the people there aren't snobby.
I have no idea why anyone would consider Atlanta to be snobby. There are Atlanta natives that let transplants know ithey were here first, and there's plenty of old Atlanta money, but again the people are generally very friendly.

Downtown chas, Mt. Pleasant, and the barrier islands are full of horrid people. Old money downtown and the others full of yankee money.

I can’t even think of where in Atlanta would be particularly snobby. Druid Hills? Hell, Augusta and Columbus have more actual old money snobs (mostly born out of an inferiority complex because those cities are trash). Unless they’re couching the 400 corridor (Dunwoody, Sandy Springs, Roswell, Alpharetta, Milton) as Atlanta because those places do suck - less the old money, though, and more the shitty transplants who have been moved in from around the country by their firms or tech companies
