Is CDC really just gonna let him dangle or are you keeping him?

No one knows. Most think he's gone, and that he knows he's gone but is keeping his mouth shut for money. If he's not gone, CDC sure is handicapping his ability to recruit.
I imagine CDC thinks he's got his man and is waiting until CWS is over to announce the fire and hire. But again, no one really knows. Crazy how little information has leaked, unlike previous coaching searches at Texas.

I don’t think y’all are getting Schloss. A&M has made commitments to him beyond his pay.
Max Wiener would be an interesting choice. He’s a great pitching coach but managing an entire game/roster is a big step. I don’t see Texas wanting to experiment with that but who knows.

The melt when this inevitably fails is going to be epic. Texas fans have convinced themselves it's a referendum of all things A&M and Texas. Watching them try and spin the swing and miss is going to be great fun.

the only explanation i can think of is that the new coach, whoever he is, is still coaching.. anyone else would surely be done by now..

i don’t know who yhe coach will be, but you are severely underestimating CDC if you think he is going to mess this up.. the guy pretty much is batting 1.000 at every school he has ever been at..
that doesn’t mean it is Schloss.. it just means he does have a target, and he seems to get who he wants

I would say Schloss is likely out, as is Link. Link is at his alma mater and is having a ton of success in his first year, no reason to leave. Schloss has plenty of resources at his disposal.
Can't see Texas hiring someone as inexperienced as Elander and certainly not Weiner.
That leaves Sully, Mingione, and Vitello. I have my doubts about Mingione and Vitello wanting to leave their current jobs although both would likely be great at Texas.
Sully is the most likely candidate if there's going to be a move made.

agreed, and he fits
but the reason I think it might be him is because he recently remarried and there is a lot of baggage with that.. and i’m guessing especially locally.. so he and his wife might welcome a change
