It's interesting that Paul Finebaum has recently commented on the Fighting Irish and their probability (or improbability) of joining the SEC.

Good for the SEC and/or Irish? Not good?

Very interesting read just released.... LINK

Did he also give a take on how to clean your gutters? Cause I don't give a shite about that either.

Only in a super conference of 48 or 64 teams.

They wouldn’t and we wouldn’t take them.

SEC brass would do disgusting things to get Notre Dame.

Notre Dame is an academic institution that is honestly too good for the “football-only” schools of the SEC. They would be smart to take the better money and prestige of the B1G

No they wouldn’t and they really don’t bring much. They’ve turned down better options in the past.

Notre Dame isn’t a good fit for the SEC’s expansion strategy, despite being a historic blue chip program

It won’t ever happen

Well if Notre Dame were to join the sec can't call this conference the sec since we have a northern school. So for me I'm strongly against Notre Dame coming to the sec.

Well it's almost all a southern conference except Missouri. I'm sure the Missouri fans will downvote me for speaking out facts.

Texas and Oklahoma aren’t south either. That is the Midwest. And Texas considers itself its own country

No it's fricking stupid. It was already stupid having Mizzou, Texas, A&M and Oklahoma join.

ETA: no offense to those programs but you guys are Big 12/8, not SEC. If you're here, we may as well call it something else besides the SEC.

I actually agree with them being more Midwest. However they’re still southern states. Missouri is def an odd ball.

Who gives a shite anymore. The actual geographical logistics mean dick now. Its solely about money, success in the big 2 sports (most importantly football see money above) and anyone arguing for the sake of the southeast is wasting breath at this point.

Going forward into super conferences, actually having programs that have serious pull mean a lot. And no one gets special treatment like ND. That being said, I couldn’t care less whoever joins at this point. The geographical boundaries clearly mean nothing now.

They would add to the collection of mid west schools.

In February, 1861, Texas legislators voted overwhelmingly to leave the Union, 166 to 7. It was the most lopsided vote for secession in any state in the lower South, with the sole exception of South Carolina.

I'm pretty sure Texas gets the lifetime pass in the SEC.
