https://www.kansascity.com/sports/spt-columns-blogs/for-petes-sake/article288448215.html It's been picked up by the Kansas City Star, which isn't exactly the greatest outfit on earth, but I was surprised to see this reported there.

You don't want these shitbirds in your conference. Y'all think Mizzou is a misfit, you've seen nothing yet. And here is how the Jayhawk fanbase is reacting to the idea:

quote:

Big 10 all day.

quote:

I think I’d prefer the big 10 (18?). SEC would be the last on my list (well, the PAC “12” would be last)…does anyone want to be aligned with mizzou again? Prefer big 10 or ACC, or stay with the big 12.

quote:

Our culture is not slaver culture like MU. Big 10 or stay put.

quote:

frick the SEC. Big 12 better not go anywhere.

quote:

Or - and hear me out - the SEC can go frick itself.

I'm sorry, but if Kansas is a pick up for the SEC, then it's equally a pick up for the Big Ten, if not moreso. If we're gonna jump conferences, it better be to go midwest and northeast.

I hate the SEC and everything it stands for. And I believe KU alumni would riot if that was our future.

This topic is and always has been stupid. They are never getting an invite. People call Mizzou fans yankees around here... kU fans' favorite insult for Mizzou fans is "slavers."

So yeah, anyone who thinks it's a good idea to invite those terrorist-loving losers, have fun with that.

Mizzou belongs with Kansas. Neither belongs in the SEC. Mizzou snd Kansas in the Big 10 make way more sense than those west coast teams, Rutgers, or Maryland being there.

I think it’d be hilarious to have KU join. Beat the frick out of them every year and leave Arkansas as the only school without a rivalry.

Arkansas would be begging for the attention again.

The SEC would manufacture Arkansas-Vandy as their rival. Be a more competitive game than Mizzou/Arkansas.

A jayhawk is a murdering, rapist, thief. I guess it's an appropriate mascot for the scum from Kansas.

The SEC doesn't need that trash.

Don’t think the SEC is eying Kansas. FSU, Clemson and UNC are probably potential takes

I'd rather have Kansas than a couple of our more recent additions.

doesn't sound like there's anything actually behind these rumors, why give it any more bandwidth

It would be just another Big 12 team seeking relevance

Was at Ft. Leavenworth recently and caught a baseball game at KU.

Outside of basketball, Kansas brings absolutely nothing. We already get the KC market factored in with Mizzou. What would the conference add with KU? Wichita and it's 650K metro area? West By God Virginia brings more to the table, and the SEC shouldn't add them either.

We need to start judging these teams by the amount of NIL they bring. And Kansas is poor

I just want missouri.

I don’t care about crappy states like Louisiana/Mississippi/etc. I’d rather have Arizona/Colorado/Utah etc

This is as dumb as the blogger rumors of Louisville to the SEC. The days of easy invites like what Missouri, Arkansas, Rutgers, etc got are over. Clemson, FSU, and UNC are the only big names left, and of those, only UNC is a 100% invite to the Power 2. My guess is the B10 takes UVA and UNC and the SEC takes FSU, Clemson, and maybe NC ST and VT to solidify the south. And then the expansion party is over with every conference but the Power 2 getting raided.

It's important you guys understand that for the most part sports journalism is not real.

It is there to create narrative to make people spend more money on sports.

Kansas PR department paid to have this story put out there.

It's like the Kelce/Swift thing this is just an ad basically.
