You have to do more than look at stats. I watched both up close. Tannehill was the better QB. He was just saddled w/a worse team.

I think most who saw them all play would have guys like Johnny Manziel, Kevin Murray, Bucky Richardson, Ryan Tannehill, Jerrod Johnson (when healthy), Stephan McGee, and Reggie McNeal ahead of him. The really old fans would likely ad Edd Hargett and Gary Kubiak to that list as well.
Bucky Richardson? I know we are supposed to love the guy but he was forward pass challenged. He never had a full season where he threw more TDs than Interceptions.

But he didn't really. He was playing in the SWC when most regional powers were flat on their as and uncompetitive. He had a very bad record against ranked teams.
1987 - He beat a #20 Arkanas who would go on to finish unranked. Beat a good Tim Brown ND team
1988- Played 5 ranked teams and lost all 5 games
1989- Best year - Beat a couple top 10 teams in LSU and Houston but then dropped a game to ranked Arkansas and we lost the Sun Bowl to a so-so Pitt team ranked 24th
1990 - Played 2 ranked teams all season and lost to both. Recovered with the big win over Ty Detmer and BYU
So he had a record of 5 wins and 9 losses against ranked teams.

Played college football for what felt like a decade and never seemed to improve. He looked the same from his first start to his last, which is pretty impressive.
I honestly can't believe he was drafted so high, but then realized that the coach and GM that took him were replaced a year later.

Amazed he made it this far in the NFL as a journeyman QB. Hopefully he can get one more 1-2 year contract and had been smart about his money mgmt.

Aggie QB Edd Hargett was the 1968 Cotton Bowl MVP when the Aggies defeated Bear Bryant's Crimson Tide Qb'ed by Kenny Stabler.

Mond was an above average college QB at best. His ceiling in the NFL was a 3rd stringer. Not surprised he got cut.
